Michael Lawrence Yarmush (born June 19, 1982 in Miami, Florida) is an American-Canadian actor based in Montreal.
He is most famous for being the very first voice of the title character of PBS Kids' hit animated series Arthur, doing so for the show’s first five seasons and the special Arthur's Perfect Christmas. He ultimately departed from the role after puberty made his voice too deep for the character and was replaced with Justin Bradley (who was later redubbed by Toronto-based child actor Mark Rendall), with many others coming on to voice Arthur in the years afterwards. However, Michael Yarmush continued to provide other voices in Arthur, voicing recurring character Slink from the ninth season onwards. 22 years after last voicing Arthur, Yarmush reprised the role in the Grand Finale, "All Grown Up", as an adult Arthur.
Outside of Arthur, Michael Yarmush has appeared in a lot of other Canadian animated and live-action works, although certainly none of them are as iconic as that lovable little aardvark.
