Matthew Paul Walsh (born October 13, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor, comedian, writer, and director. A student of the legendary improv comic performer and teacher Del Close, he co-founded the Upright Citizens Brigade troupe and later co-starred on the eponymous TV show alongside a pre-Saturday Night Live Amy Poehler. Notable credits since then include Veep, Brigsby Bear, and Widows.

Walsh has three children with his wife, Morgan.

He is not to be confused with the American conservative political commentator with the same name, who wrote the children's book Johnny the Walrus.
