Mathieu Amalric (born October 25, 1965 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France) is a French actor and director.
The son of famous journalist and editor Jacques Amalric, he's best known in France for his 1990s/2000s roles in arthouse/auteur dramatic movies, most notably those of French director Arnaud Desplechin, in which he often played whimsical or eccentric intellectuals or artists with Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness, and often with serious family issues.
He has also appeared in bigger, more international productions in supporting roles, such as Munich and Quantum of Solace, and more recently several films of Wes Anderson.
