Louis Leterrier (born June 17, 1973 in Paris) is a French director and producer.

The son of director and actor François Leterrier, he began his career as production assistant or assistant director to Jean-Pierre Jeunet on Alien: Resurrection and Luc Besson on The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, and as director on commercials. He went on to direct several films produced and written by Besson at EuropaCorp in the early 2000s, then moved across the pond to work on various big American productions.

Filmography as director:

Tropes & Trivia in his works:

  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • He's a big fan of The Dark Crystal since his childhood, so much so that it motivated him to become a filmmaker. Then, one day, he got to direct Age of Resistance.
    • He's also a big fan of The Fast and the Furious and had always dreamt of directing an installment in the franchise. He was one of the filmmakers shortlisted to direct The Fate of the Furious alongside Adam Wingard before F. Gary Gray signed on. Later on, when original director Justin Lin left Fast X due to creative differences (though he still retains writing and producing credits), Leterrier was hired as his replacement a week later and performed several uncredited rewrites to the screenplay.
