James Lance Bass (born May 4, 1979) is an American singer, actor, and film and TV producer. He rose to fame as a member of the boy band *NSYNC, singing the bass parts. In 2002, Bass was among a handful of people selected to travel to space on a Russian Soyuz capsule. Bass underwent several months of cosmonaut training and earned certification from both the Russian Space Program and NASA. However, financing fell through and Bass was ultimately not given a seat on the capsule.

During his time in the band, Bass also formed a film production company and produced the movie On the Line, which starred him and his bandmate Joey Fatone. Like Fatone, he has also performed on Broadway and competed on Dancing with the Stars. More recently, Bass has produced the documentary The Boy Band Con, which is about the rise and fall of boy band impresario Lou Pearlman. He is also involved in the restaurant and bar industries and co-owns a sports bar in West Hollywood.

He also voiced Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts. No, really.

Lance Bass' roles provide examples of:

  • Adam Westing: Lance has no problem spoofing himself. His Instagram bio mentions he is a “frosted tips survivor” and he has a great sense of humor about himself as seen on his TikTok.
