Tropes:
- Meme Acknowledgment: Ken Pontac wrote the "You Are a Pirate" song from LazyTown. He's proud of the song becoming an internet sensation.
- What Could Have Been: The characters of Orbot and Cubot were almost cut from the series until Ken suggested to keep using them for Sonic Lost World. It would explain their Unexplained Recovery.Ken Pontac: Cubot and Orbot, yes. They almost got cut from the series. Yeah. There were some questions from one of the groups of producers that um... they were really funny. They were great, but Eggman wouldn't have that kind of relationship with a pair of robots, and obviously we ended up winning that argument because even if he doesn't or didn't have that, you can have it now if it's really funny and works.
- Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: According to a Youtube user, Ken Pontac became forbidden by Sega to hold more interviews after Roger van der Weide (creator of Sonic Dissected and Sonic In X Minutes) interviewed him, and then used the interview to nitpick about his work in the Sonic series and make inappropriate jokes that would be considered slander. Roger left the interview up, but has commented that he regrets what he did. Quoting an interview with RebelTaxi:Ken Pontac: "As you well know, then, I have a checkered history with (the) Sonic fandom. This is when I found out when I made the internets explode from my little faux pas, when I went to the, uh, principal's office and was told, "Yeah, this happen to all of us. Just don't talk to those guys, you know? That's the best." You know, I love my fans — like all of them, except for the ones that just hate me for dumb reasons. (...) They don't understand how the world works, how things work, and it's just kind of childish, and its unfortunate, because whatever vocal group is behind all of that, they definitely screwed it for any Sonic fans who wanted me to do a Sonic panel at any cons I have ever gone to subsequently or in the future, and I won't do it."
