John Bennett Perry (born January 4th, 1941) is an American actor and former model, best known as the sailor in the "Old Spice" commercials in the 1970s and 1980s. He is the father of the late actor Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends (1994-2004), in which he made a guest appearance in 1998 and appeared with him in the 1997 film Fools Rush In, his 2004 guest appearance on Scrubs, and on his TV series Mr. Sunshine (2011).
He was married to Suzanne Langford, a former press secretary to former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, from 1968 to 1970. Since 1981, he has been married to Debbie Boyle, in which they had a daughter named Maria together.
