Janet Wright (born March 8, 1945 in Farnborough, England) was an English-born Canadian actress and theatre director.
She was most famous for playing Emma Leroy on Corner Gas, but also acted in and directed numerous stage productions across Saskatoon, Vancouver, and at the Stratford Festival. It was actually her work in theater beginning in the 70s that eventually got her noticed for roles on television in both Canada and the United States, such as voicing Constance the badger on Nelvana's acclaimed Animated Adaptation of Redwall.
She was formerly married to Brian Richmond, but later married Bruce Davis. Her 3 siblings Susan, John, and Anne Wright are all also known for appearing in Canadian stage theatre, and she co-starred with them in several plays.
She passed away on November 14, 2016. When Corner Gas received an animated revival in 2018, her role as Emma Leroy was succeeded by Canadian voice actress and award-winning fellow stage actress Corrine Koslo (known for voicing Nikki Darling on Beverly Hills Teens and Lady Rataxes on Babar).
