John Robert Horner (better known as Jack Horner) is an American palaeontologist, best known for his contributions to the study and discoveries of dinosaurs from the days of the Dinosaur Renaissance all the way to the present day. He is best known for being the leading figure of a team of palaeontologists who discovered the remains of the hadrosaur Maiasaura back in 1979, which proved conclusive results that dinosaurs were indeed social animals thanks to the discovery itself being a nesting ground populated by adults and infants. He was also known for discovering and naming other dinosaurs, such as Orodromeus malekai (in memory of a close friend to Jack, Bob Makela), Achelousaurus horneri, Anasazaisaurus horneri, and Daspletosaurus horneri. He is also most famous for being the figurehead for the hypothesis that Tyrannosaurus rex was a scavenger, which had spurned a debate between whether it was a predator or not.

As a leading palaeontologist, Jack has been featured in several shows that focus around on dinosaurs, usually as a scientific consultant. He has also written a number of books detailing his research and his hypothesis surrounding dinosaurology.

Not to be confused with the nursery rhyme of the same name, or its titular character, and certainly not with "Big" Jack Horner.
