Günter Tesch (September 7, 1943 - March 29, 2018), who adopted the name "Gerry" upon his immigration to America, was a German-American folk musician, religious writer, publisher and film director. He is known for directing Maradonia and the Shadow Empire, as well as for his various German books and music albums.
Günter Tesch was the father of fantasy writer Gloria Tesch, and managed most of the promotional campaign behind his daughter's Maradonia Saga books, although the campaign was met with widescale internet controversy due to the ethically-questionable nature of the advertising used. He was also convicted of charity fraud in Germany, although this had no relation to his creative works. Günter was married to (and later divorced) illustrator Marina Terkulova.
Tesch passed away on March 29, 2018, in Florida.
