Frances Eliza Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924) was a British-American writer of books and plays. She is best known these days for her children's fiction, particularly The Secret Garden, but also wrote novels for adults which were very popular in her day. Some of Burnett's works received numerous adaptations, most especially A Little Princess which was adapted to several live-action features, an anime series and a Japanese drama to name a few.
