Emmanuel Jacomy (born January 11, 1960 in Dijon) is a French actor and voice actor.
Having started stage acting at 23, he became known for dubbing the roles of Pierce Brosnan (including of course James Bond from 1995 to 2002), Russell Crowe (save for a few that were voiced by the late Marc Alfos), Forest Whitaker, Denzel Washington and Ray Liotta, as well as Val Kilmer, Tim Robbins, Gary Sinise, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Kiefer Sutherland on occasion. Since 2022's Father Stu, he's replaced the late Jacques Frantz for the roles of Mel Gibson.
In animation dubbing, he's most well known for a string of Disney main roles such as Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan in Tarzan and Phoebus in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, as well as Clark Kent/Superman in the DC Animated Universe and various other animated and video game adaptations afterwards (ironically, he later dubbed Jor-El in Man of Steel), Ramses II in The Prince of Egypt and Stan Smith in American Dad!. He's also dubbed Bruce Wayne/Batman in a few DC Universe Animated Original Movies where he wasn't handled by Adrien Antoine (namely all the movies made between Justice League vs. Teen Titans and Batman: Soul of the Dragon inclusively).
Tropes & Trivia in his works:
- The Other Darrin: He voiced the campy 1960s Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and Batman vs. Two-Face, replacing both the late Marc Cassot (who was the first voice of that incarnation of the character in the 1966 series and movie) and Hervé Bellon (who was the second voice of the character in the 1966 series).
- Predecessor Casting Gag: He voiced Superman in multiple animated and video game adaptations before voicing Supes' biological father Jor-El in Man of Steel.
