Dean-Charles Chapman (born 7th September 1997 in Romford, East London) is an English actor. He's best known for portraying Tommen Baratheon in Game of Thrones from Season 4 onwards and Thomas Blake in 1917. On stage, he's been involved in the West End production of Billy Elliot The Musical for many years, including playing the title character from 2009 to 2011.

Filmography includes:

Tropes associated with his roles include:

  • The Other Darrin: He replaced Callum Wharry as Tommen in the fourth season of Game of Thrones.
  • Period Piece: He appears in lots of these, including Thomas of Lancaster in The King (early 15th century), Richard Grey in The White Queen (late 15th Century), small roles in Will (late 16th century) and Ripper Street (late 19th century), Blake in 1917 and Billy Elliot (1980s). His roles in Game of Thrones could also technically count; it doesn't take place in our world but has a Medieval European Fantasy setting.
  • Typecasting: Many of his most prominent roles see him playing well-intentioned but naive Butt-Monkey-type characters who just can't catch a break. He's often cast as a second-or-third-born child overshadowed by an older sibling and tends to come from a noble or well-to-do family he's desperate to prove himself to.
  • You Look Familiar: Prior to being cast as Tommen, Chapman portrayed Martyn Lannister in the third season of Game of Thrones. This works out well in-universe, as the two characters are cousins, so it makes sense they could look alike (especially given Tommen's true biological father is also his maternal uncle).
