David Ida Pond is the current upholder of the Pond Dynasty, and the only female Pond writer yet. Inspired in third grade, she became a haiku writer and continues to write haikus now.
Pond was born interprovincially in 2008 to poet and songwriter Patrick Pond, known for performing on paddlewheelers on the St. John river, and a private Fredericton piano teacher. Expecting a boy, they prepared to name her David.
Pond first published her haikus at 13 while in love.
Pond has released one book so far, Life And Loons At Lake George(2022).
