Dark Energy Digital was a privately-owned video game developer and publisher based in Manchester, England. The company was known for developing a series of pool and snooker games, and also on HydroEngine, a graphic engine that would attempt to animate water as realistically as possible. HydroEngine only saw use in one of the company's games, the action-adventure game Hydrophobia. The company went bankrupt in 2012 due to the game's low sales.
