Calpernia Sarah Addams (born February 20, 1971 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an actress, singer, entertainer, author, and transgender activist. She has acted in several productions on-stage and on film, and was even the subject of her own reality series Transamerican Love Story.
She dated infantry solider Barry Winchell
in 1999. Winchell was murdered on July 5, 1999, a murder that was perpetrated by his fellow soldiers, Calvin Neal Glover and Justin Fisher, due to Winchell dating Addams. The event spurred Addam's activism and their relationship was portrayed in the film Soldiers Girl.
