CD Projekt is a Polish video game developer, publisher, and distributor, founded in May 1994 by Marcin Iwiński and Michał Kiciński.

The company worked with Interplay Entertainment, localizing Baldur's Gate. A later collaboration was a PC port for Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, but Interplay faced major financial problems resulting in its cancellation. Following this, CD Projekt took interest in game development.

In in 2002, the development department of the company, CD Projekt Red, was established. Using the experience of working with Interplay, the company developed the critically acclaimed The Witcher, based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski, kickstarting a franchise. They also created Cyberpunk 2077, an adaptation of the tabletop role-playing game Cyberpunk.

In 2008, the company established GOG.com, a digital distribution platform known for selling old classic games to run on modern systems, alongside a DRM-free policy. In August 2018, CD Projekt established Spokko in order to facilitate mobile game development, announcing The Witcher: Monster Slayer in August 26, 2020.
