Andy Griffiths (born 3 September 1961) is an Australian children's book writer. Two of his works, the Just! series and the Bum trilogy, have received Animated Adaptations co-produced with Canada for Teletoon: What's with Andy? by Montreal's CinéGroupe (with America's Saban Entertainment and France's SIP Animation) in 2001 and The Day My Butt Went Psycho! by Toronto's Nelvana (with Australia's Studio Moshi) in 2013.

He tends to work with illustrator Terry Denton. He is married to Jill Griffiths, his editor and sometimes co-writer.

This author and his work provide examples of:

  • Creator Couple: His wife Jill is also his editor and has helped with writing some of his later books. According to Andy, "She particularly loves working on the rhymes."
  • Tribute to Fido: He had a dog named Sooty and a cat named Silky. Sooty appears in the Just! series, and Silky in the Treehouse series.
  • Tuckerization: The main character of the Just! series is also named Andy, and the main characters of his Treehouse series are named after himself, Terry, and Jill.
