Continuity Nod / Phineas and Ferb in Dimmsdale

Go To

It's a multi-part fanfic series that is a crossover between two longlasting cartoon shows. Of course there's a lot of Continuity Nods, Call-Backs, and other references in it.

    Bet-tle at the Mall
  • The way Buford fought over the Crimson Chin comic with Timmy is alluding to the time Timmy (as Timantha) fought over a Skull Squisher comic with a disguised Trixie, in "The Boy Who Would Be Queen". Timmy himself even lampshades he experienced this earlier.
  • An echo appears again when Timmy mentioned his other pets died when he went to summer camp, referncing "That's Life!" There's also a Broken Echo similar to the ones in Phineas and Ferb episode "We Call It Maze".
  • Phineas seems to believe that Trixie is scientifically prettier than Veronica, a reference to how he found Isabella scientifically cute in "Meapless in Seattle".
  • Irving brings up his UPAFDS, his tablet scrapbook from "What a Croc!"
  • Phineas requests Timmy and Chloe to get a blowtorch and some peanut butter, a nod to "Rollercoaster".
  • Perry puts up a pair of Groucho glasses in order to not get noticed by Trixie, just like in "Flop Starz".
  • Also from "The Boy Who Would Be Queen", Trixie's passion for comic books is displayed, and even her boy clothes.
  • Candace still like Marvel comics, as revealed in "Mission Marvel".
  • Remy decides to use Boom Juice as his trump card to sabotage Phineas and Ferb, which appeared in Phineas and Ferb episode "Road Trip".
  • When he got rescued by Veronica, Perry gives her a pamphlet, the same one he gave Phineas in Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension. Another reference to said movie was how Perry noted Phineas and Ferb's inventions were the OWCA's only hope to save the Tri-State Area.
  • Veronica has two secrets: her wanting to be so much like Trixie that she occasionally dresses up as her, and her crush on Timmy. Both are references to "Information Stupor Highway", and Veronica attempts to rid of both of them in Odyssey into the Mind of Trixie.
  • The narration mentions that Candace used to be bad at roller skating, a reference to "Crack That Whip".
  • Chloe mentions that her parents love wildlife, but would probably take Perry back to his natural habitat, like what happened in "Booby Trapped".
  • The narration mentions that things like the cartoon studio that danced away ("Out of Toon") and the giant scrapbook made for Jeremy disappearing ("Cheers for Fears") are still fresh in Candace's mind.
    Crocknapped!
  • Charlene is still at cooking class, from "I Scream, You Scream".
  • Crocker mentions that he got a bunch of money to fund his secret hideout with thanks to a stock tip given by Chloe, something she also gave to Mr Turner in "Big Fairy Share Scare". When the kids discover this later in the abandoned Crocker Cave, Timmy naturally lashes out on Chloe.
  • The notes Crocker used to concuct Cold Iron with were written by Alden Bitteroot, who appeared in "Which Witch is Which?"
  • Apparently, the reason Heinz never finished the Ghost Portalinator until now was that he realized that he was building it a day before Vanessa's Sweet 16, which took place during "Dude, We're Getting The Band Back Together!"
  • Crocker accidentally shows Phineas and Ferb a picture of him in a red leather dress, another reference to "Information Stupor Highway".
  • Phineas mention they get royalties from their time as one-hit wonders ("Flop Starz"), and they still have seats in the Danville Council ("Phineas and Ferb Get Busted", "In Search for Mary McGuffin").
  • Mark Chang still has a passion for barbery, as revealed in "Marked Man".
  • Timmy fills Chloe in on the events of "Wishology" while they're looking for Phineas and Ferb.
  • Norm the genie's lamp was found in a garage sale by Mr Birkenbake, just like in his debut episode "Genie Meanie Miney Mo".
  • Doofenshmirtz listens to the Lumberzacks, a reference to Milo Murphy's Law episode "Secrets and Pies". The same hit song gets referenced in Odyssey into the Mind of Trixie and Dakota and Cavendish in Dimmsdale.
  • The narration mentions Vanessa has a GPS receiver in her earrings, as was revealed in "Summer Belongs to You!"
  • Vicky (who went unnamed in this story) mentions having a meeting with an organization called Babysitters Raging Against Twerps, which appeared in "Frenemy Mine".
  • Doof sends Crocker and his mom away via the Away-Inator from "Vanesassary Roughness".
  • Heinz has a disdain for genies like in "The Lake Nose Monster" and "Just Our Luck".
  • Vanessa's "three extra wishes" was an exploit Crocker used in "Back to the Norm". Norm admitting that genies not allowing more than three wishes being a bluff is a nod to the same episode.
  • The super hero personas that the kids take in the comic are (apart from Irving's) directly taken from "The Big Superhero Wish" and "Out of Toon".
Odyssey into the Mind of Trixie
  • The fanfic's premise is basically two Whole Plot References, to "Monster From the Id" and "Hex Games".
  • Heinz expresses his love for almond brittle that was revealed in "Phineas and Ferb: Christmas Vacation".
  • The Mayor of Dimmsdale, and town mascot Chompy the goat, recurring characters that debuted in "Dream Goat!", are at the opening ceremony of The Nutty Chipmunk.
  • Buford expresses that Vicky is just as scary as little Suzy Johnson. His fear for the little girl was revealed in her debut episode "One Good Scare Ought to Do It!"
  • Baljeet summed up some scary thing Buford overcame himself singlehandedly, those being an octopus eating his goldfish ("Voyage to the Bottom of Buford"), Candace's Id ("Moster from the Id" again), and Brigitte learning about Buford's true self ("Buford Confidential").
  • Timmy disdainly asks Meap if he's a Gigglepie as well, which he had the displeasure to deal with in "So Totally Spaced Out".
  • After Timmy's training in the Grand Canyon, Meap appears with a cup of coffee and a five-dollar scone ("The OWCA Files"), as well as a flyer for Hamosaur ("Family Vacation" from Milo Murphy's Law.
  • One of Trixie's anxieties was literally "Tell me I'm pretty", referencing "Just the Two of Us!"
  • Candace reveals to Veronica and Trixie that she and Stacy had a crush on Billy Clark ("Spa Day")
  • Boris ("The Flying Fishmonger") and Rodrigo ("Minor Monogram") are mentioned among the obnoxious people Doofenshmirtz met.
  • Vanessa began to see her dad as a misguided person that pretended to be evil due to his childhood, which is what she told him in "Last Day of Summer".
  • The memories Trixie began recalling are from the episodes "Stupid Cupid", "Love Struck!", "Hail To the Chief", "Information Stupor Highway", "The Boy Who Would Be Queen", and "A Wish Too Far!"
  • Baljeet snapping at Buford is played exactly how he reacted to him in "When Worlds Collide".
  • Milo Murphy's Law's "Rooting For the Enemy" gets referenced twice: one instance is when Trixie mentioned all the stuff they bought costed 17 dollars (like in Milo's song), and Heinz not seeing the point of rooting for the enemy, unless one had Murphy's law.
  • The final skate course Phineas and Ferb made for the competition is a reference to the course they made in "The Beak".
  • According to Meap, Mitch still gets 15-minute timeouts ("Meapless in Seattle").
  • Rodney was being held in OWCA-traz from "Return of the Rogue Rabbit", and the reason is tied to the events of "Phineas and Ferb Save Summer". He escaped with the help from his son Orville, from "A Real Boy".
    Dakota and Cavendish in Dimmsdale
  • The entire existence of this fanfic are the results of what Dakota and Cavendish did during "School Dance".
  • Day 2 has Dakota longing for a breakfast burrito, and Day 4 has him telling that he, Cavendish and the Tangs got a steak sandwich, both referencing "Worked Day".
  • The mutated pistachio monsters Norm conjured up are both a reference to "The Llama Incident" and a Call-Forward to "Missing Milo".
  • Cavendish lamented that he couldn't wish for a new Time Vehicle in red, like what he wanted in "The Little Engine That Couldn't".
  • Cavendish lamented about his failures with Hildegard, someone he seemed to dream about in "Milo Murphy's Halloween Scream-a-Torium!"
  • Another reference to "Worked Day" is placed in one of the three mission choices Dakota and Cavendish had at Day 4, this being to get a transport truck of pistachios to its destination safely.
  • The flashback has Dakota worry Cavendish might die and Dakota having no time travel devices to avert it, a thing he often does that was revealed in "Island of the Lost Dakotas".
  • Cavendish mentioned they had pretended to be Gregory Teacher's parents, another reference to "School Dance".
