Not to be confused with The Legend of Zelda.
Zelda 2007-current? is a swedish newspaper comic. It centers around the life of Zelda, a cynical art-school dropout feminist and the people around her.
The strip provides examples of:
- Adaptational Location Change: The comic takes place in Stockholm, but in the norweigan translation, the setting has been moved to Oslo.
- Bumbling Dad: Zelda's father.
- Granola Girl: Zelda's friend Karma. She's a dreadlocked hippie living in a collective.
- Hypocritical Humor: A frequent source of humor is zelda's inability to live up to her own ideologies. One such example comes in the arc when she goes to Thailand- She rants about western men importing wives from poor countries, calling it "legalized trafficking" only to start hitting on and drooling all over a hot male thai bartender.
- Second Love: Tove's first girlfriend, Elsa, breaks up with her. Tove is heartbroken at first but soon gets together with Kim, and they have a child together.
- Status Quo Is God: Very much averted. Troughout the comic, the charactes have switched between different jobs and educations, ended relationsships and started new ones, started families, radically changed their apperances, etc.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Zelda herself has gradually gotten more level-headed.
- What Measure Is a Non-Cute?: Discussed in one strip. Zelda rejects eating meat because she claims to be a vegetarian, only for her boyfriend to point out that she eats fish and ask why she thinks a cow has more rights to live than a fish. Her response? "Fishes don't have eyelashes"
