A speculative-fiction English-language Filipino graphic novella by artist Arnold Arre. Completed in 2001, it's told from the point of view of a young man living in the mid-21st century Philippines, a hugely overpopulated land where former actor Aga Muhlach is President and bald, The Eraserheads are on a reunion tour of the moon, and speaking of which, Philippine Spacelines offers round trips.
Contains examples of:
- Bad Future: In some ways, because a lot of the country's problems with overpopulation and urban poverty still exist, even if it's doing well otherwise.
- Balkanize Me: United Mindanao (historically home to much of the Filipino Muslim minority) has seceded from the rest of the (presumably still Catholic-dominated) country.
- Used Future: Very used in some places. It's Mega Manila; of course the strain of nearly a billion Filipinos would make that inevitable.
- Zeerust: Smart watches are common in this future. In Real Life they're not quite around yet, and phones have in the meantime become mini-tablet computers … which are still handheld, like pocket watches.
