The Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special was a DC Comics one-shot published in February 1992 starring Lobo.

The Main Man is hired by the Easter Bunny to kill Santa, a job Lobo greatly relishes due to being pissed at Santa Claus for never giving him any presents.

Played a part in a crossover with The Authority where Jenny Quantum read the story and wished to punish Lobo for murdering Santa. Was adapted into a fan film in 2002.

Tropes:

  • Awful Wedded Life: The couple in the story's framing device make it very clear that they hate each other's guts.
  • Bad Santa: Santa Claus works his elves to the bone and refuses to heed their complaints on working conditions, one of the elves even warning that they put their own lives at risk by continuing to complain.
  • Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Nixon: When Lobo takes over Santa's operations, he misnames some of the reindeer as "Fragger", "Bastich" and "Scuzzball".
  • Easter Bunny: The Easter Bunny is the one who puts out a hit on Santa.
  • Flipping the Bird: The content disclaimer warns that the story features "the finger", which turns out to refer to the comic ending with Lobo and Dawg flipping off the reader.
  • Offing the Offspring: The Framing Device ends with the father deciding to shoot his kids to get out of himself and his wife facing their offspring's wrath at not having presents this year.
  • Off with His Head!: Lobo kills Santa by decapitating him.
