Star Wars is a 2013 comic book series written by Brian Wood and published by Dark Horse Comics. Running for 20 issues between January 2013 and August 2014, the series was cancelled after Wood's contract was not renewed after Disney jettisoned the Expanded Universe into the Legends continuity.

The series took place mere months after the events of A New Hope and had the heroes work to expose a spy in the Rebellion's midst and find a new base after evacuating Yavin.

Not to be confused with the in-continuity comic book currently published by Marvel, or the Legends Marvel series published in the 1970s and 80s, both of which also pick up right after A New Hope. Also not to be confused with the first 50 issues of Star Wars Republic which was originally a series of miniseries named Star Wars.

Tropes featured in this comic include:

  • Big "WHAT?!": Chewbacca lets loose a confused roar as Han suddenly shoots the contact he was meeting on Coruscant. Han says that he can always smell a rat and the squad of stormtroopers that come barging in seconds later shows that his instinct was correct.
  • Fake Action Prologue: Luke and Wedge's first scenes in the second issue show them taking on a whole squadron of TIE fighters by themselves. It turns out to just be a round in the simulator.
  • Happier Home Movie: Leia is shown to watch a tourist commercial holovideo for her destroyed homeworld
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • While repairing Leia's shot down X-Wing, more Imperials arrive, forcing her to fly her barely functioning fighter on nothing but a cold start for the engines.
    • The commanding officer of the ship that Darth Vader has been assigned is visibly shown sweating and shaking, knowing full well about Vader's reputation.
  • Tempting Fate: Han Solo thinks that with the Rebellion backing him, he no longer has to worry about the debt he owes Jabba the Hutt.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Leia pilots her own X-Wing, complete with orange pilot uniform. In the first issue, Leia manually torpedoes a TIE Interceptor, taking out both it and her X-Wing. After both fighters crash land on a nearby planet, Leia takes out the pilot with her blaster pistol.
  • You Have Failed Me: For his failure at Yavin, Darth Vader is humiliated by the Emperor and forced to relinquish command of his Star Destroyer and is assigned to a light cruiser. The Emperor even rubs Vader's face in the fact that the new commander of the destroyer has an unblemished record.
