Snowman is a Comic Book series by Avatar Press.

The comic follows an ice-and-snow-powered spirit of vengeance known as The Snowman. Centuries ago, the Snowman was a simple Native American man of the Oushua Tribe who lived with his beautiful wife and daughter, and was one of the key providers for his tribe despite his missing leg. That all came crashing down around him, however, when a white man targeted his tribe, slaughtering his daughter in the process, then making the tribesman watch as the white man raped and killed his wife right in front of him before killing him.

Before, he killed the tribesman's wife's brother, and she was so overcome with grief that he had her family's crystals imbued with a curse of vengeance. And now, whenever the crystals touch the snow, the tribesman returns to continue his Roaring Rampage of Revenge against all white people on US soil, slaughtering each one he sees with no mercy or compassion. And he can't rest until every white person on his people's land is dead.

The comic was published in 1997.

Snowman contains examples of:

  • An Arm and a Leg: In the Flashback to the Snowman's origins, we see he was missing his left leg. In life, he was attacked by a bear, which gouged his leg so much it had to be removed.
  • Boom, Headshot!: A number of these are in the comic.
    • One Native American from the Snowman's old tribe is shot through the eye.
    • The Snowman found his daughter dead, a bullet hole in her head.
    • The Snowman's wife was shot through the head right in front of him.
    • August does this to a guy who, thinking she was just a regular mannequin, was basically getting ready to have sex with her.
  • An Ice Person: The Snowman's powers are based on ice and snow.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: The Snowman likes sticking people on ice spikes.
  • Nubile Savage: The Snowman's wife.
  • One-Word Title: Snowman, naturally.
  • Start of Darkness: The Snowman's is discussed in the first issue.
  • Tribal Face Paint: The people of Snowman's old tribe had a lot of markings on their bodies, which included face paint.
