Planet Hulk is a 2015 Marvel Comics limited series written by Sam Humphries with art by Mike Del Mundo.

The series is part of the Secret Wars (2015) event, set at a time when reality has been remade and the only remaining planet is Battleworld, a patchwork of different realms held together by the will of Doctor Doom.

Steve Rogers and Devil Dinosaur journey into Greenland, a region of Battleworld populated by Hulks.

Planet Hulk (2015) provides examples of:

  • Domesticated Dinosaurs: The series stars a post-apocalyptic gladiator Steve Rogers, who must cross a country of Gamma radiated Hulks with his only companion - a domesticated Devil Dinosaur.
  • Downer Ending: Steve Rogers kills the Red King, then ends up killing the Hulk that lead him there, a manipulative version of himself who embraced the Hulk. Realizing that he's become just like them and his journey was nothing more than a farce with Bucky dead, he retrieves Devil Dinosaur and walks away a broken man.
  • Faceā€“Heel Turn: Doc Green, who only helps Captain America kill the Red King so he can steal his kingdom.
  • In Name Only: The series only shares the name with its predecessor, with the story actually involving Steve Rogers and Devil Dinosaur taking on an entire planet of Hulks).
  • Mythology Gag: The series contains several nods to the original.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The back-up story issue #1 reveals that Greenland was accidentally created when Amadeus Cho tried to diffuse a gamma-powered missile. He managed to stop the explosion from leveling the city and killing everyone, but the resulting gamma leak turned everyone into Hulks.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Steve Rogers is on a mission to rescue Bucky from the Red King, a Hulk, who is keeping him prisoner. After a long journey Steve finally makes it to the Red King's throne room only to learn the Red King killed Bucky a long time ago. This enrages Steve to the point where he simply starts whaling on the Red King with his shield — who tries but doesn't get in as much as a single punch — and doesn't stop bashing in the king's head until he is dead. Steve literally beat the king of the Hulks to death with nothing but his shield.
