Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit is a 2022 five issue mini-series by Marvel Comics, following after the events of The Magnificent Ms. Marvel.

While chasing a mysterious thief during a visit to Chicago, Ms. Marvel is caught up in a lab accident and sees a bizarre vision of alternate universes home to different versions of herself. After returning home to Jersey City, she finds herself plagued by increasingly bizarre events, including surreal hallucinations and a mysterious doppelgänger. As she investigates these events, she finds herself becoming caught up in what proves to be a web of events that stretches across universes...

Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit

  • Big Good: Marvel-Ji is an alternate Ms. Marvel who solved all of her world's environmental problems.
  • The Cameo: The alternate versions of Ms. Marvel that are glimpsed throughout the series include President Khan from the "Old Woman Laura" arc of All-New Wolverine and Kamala Kang from Infinity Wars.
  • Cliffhanger: The last issue ends with the unnamed trench-coated villain, who got away during an earlier confrontation between himself, Qarin and Kamala, inserting the item he had stolen into a glowing device and gloating as visions of alternate-universe Ms. Marvels appear around him.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: Qarin used her powers to make Ms. Marvel believe she was trapped in a Bollywood musical and later a snowglobe.
  • Disproportionate Revenge: Qarin wants to kill Ms. Marvel as well as the thief she stopped because she blames them for the death of Marvel-ji.
  • Doppelgänger: Kamala spends much of the second issue chasing a duplicate of herself that's running around Jersey city commenting increasingly serious crimes.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Ms. Marvel has no idea what Qarin is talking about when the latter says Kamala destroyed her world.
  • Just Friends: Parodied during the Bollywood song sequence, where Bruno sings a romantic serenade about how he and Kamala are just friends.
Every time you open the door my heart flutters as you walk in the store — but I swear we're only friiiiiieeeeends and nothing mooooooooooooore!
  • Line-of-Sight Alias: When her parents as her where Qarin is from, Kamala panics and says that she's from "Churrostan", since she happened to be eating churros at the moment.
  • Misplaced Retribution: Marvel-Ji was killed by an explosion caused by the time cube.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • In the first issue, when musing about potential alternate selves and the way her shapeshifting works by moving matter between her past and future selves, Kamala wonders if some of them are "regular" superheroes who got their powers by being bitten by radioactive spiders or by studying under an ancient one.
    • In the second issue, one of the future Kamalas is seen reading a Spider-Ham picture book to her child.
  • Parental Sexuality Squick: Downplayed as Parental Affection Squick — in the first issue, Kamala finds her parents being mushy and affectionate to be seriously off-putting.
Parental affection... it's almost enough to make me lose my appetite...
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Qarin is revealed to despise Ms. Marvel under misdirected retribution for what she believes is the destruction of her world and all its people, including her Ms. Marvel. Even when shown the devastation wasn't anywhere near as widespread as she thought, she still claims her animosity for Kamala isn't gone.
  • Something Only They Would Say:
    • Done unintentionally in the third issue. When Kamala is confronting the doppelgänger, she mentions that she "could murder ten gyros right now". Nakia remarks that that's definitely their Ms. Marvel, since it's a well-established character trait of hers that she's a Big Eater.
    • In the fourth issue, Kamala convinces Nadia that she's the real Ms. Marvel by reminding her of a specific snack they shared when they were getting Nadia's citizenship paperwork sorted out.
  • Synchronization: Something about the process that brought Qarin over also made her entangled on the quantum level with Ms. Marvel. She's capable of leeching her powers and making her see whatever she wants her to see. It slightly goes both ways as Kamala asserting control over her powers makes Qarin instantly incapable of using them.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Qarin can take on the appearances of other people.
