Mr. Miracle is a Superhero from The Golden Age of Comic Books, published by Holyoke in Captain Fearless #1-2, the former of which was reprinted in Holyoke One-Shot #2.

An unnamed man tries to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. Rescued by a passerby, he's taken to the lab of Professor Rietz to be nursed back to health. Rietz heals the man with a device called the Mind Ray, but is soon after murdered by his assistant. However, Rietz lives long enough to tell the man he has mystical abilities now, which he uses to fight evil as Mr. Miracle.

No relation to the DC Comics character.


This comic contains examples of:

  • Big Bad Wannabe: Captain Wu commissioned Sango to steal the Mind-Ray, but appears for a total of one page and is promptly defeated, with Sango himself being the real threat.
  • In the Back: Seemingly the only way Mr. Miracle can be hurt is by surprising him, as he is not invulnerable.
  • Interrupted Suicide: Mr. Miracle is introduced jumping off a bridge, but being rescued.
  • Left for Dead: At the end of Captain Fearless #2, Miracle leaves the Nazis to drown in their ruined submarine.
  • The Mole: Sango started working for Professor Rietz so he could eventually steal the plans for his home country.
  • No Plans, No Prototype, No Backup: Sango destroys the Mind-Ray and kills its inventor in the first issue. He does steal the sole copy of the blueprints, but after Mr. Miracle thwarts him he throws the plans overboard.
  • The Omnipotent: Miracle's power is basically the ability to do anything.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Mr. Miracle's real name was never given.
  • Protagonist Title
  • Starter Villain: Sango, a foreign agent plotting to steal the powerful Mind-Ray for his own country. However, he has the bad luck of stealing it right after Miracle is empowered by it, and is promptly thwarted and left for the police by issue's end.
  • Those Wacky Nazis: The main antagonists of Captain Fearless #2 are Nazi soldiers trying to sink a neutral ship.
