Milestone Forever was a two-issue 2010 miniseries written by Dwayne McDuffie (it is in fact the last comic he wrote within his lifetime) and illustrated by John Paul Leon and Mark Bright, serving as a belated conclusion to the Milestone Comics continuity.

Dharma foresees a cataclysmic disaster happening to the Dakotaverse and peeks into the futures of the various heroes of Dakota to try and determine how to prevent it.

Tropes:

  • Babies Ever After: Virgil Hawkins is shown to be married to Freida Goren with two children, in addition to his sister Sharon being married and pregnant.
  • Back for the Dead: Holocaust comes back just to be killed off.
  • Back for the Finale: The miniseries brings back some Dakotaverse characters who hadn't been seen in a while, most notably Rift from the Worlds Collide crossover event (who was forgotten after that event reached its conclusion) and Static's enemy Hotstreak, who has now changed his codename to Firewheel and was last seen getting shot by Rick Stone during the "What Are Little Boys Made Of?" arc.
  • Fully Absorbed Finale: The miniseries serves to tie up all the loose ends of the Dakotaverse and to also explain how the Dakotaverse characters ended up coexisting with the characters of the standard DC Universe.
  • Karmic Death: Holocaust tries to use his powers to burn Wise Son to death. Because Wise Son is immune to serious injury, Holocaust only succeeds in burning himself to death.
  • Legacy Character: Tiffany Evans/Technique succeeds Curtis Metcalf as Hardware. The Milestone 30th Anniversary Special would later reveal that Raquel Ervin/Rocket also succeeded Augustus Freeman as Icon.
  • Merged Reality: Dharma ultimately saves the Dakotaverse by merging it with the DC Universe.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Static's enemy Hotstreak resurfaces under the new codename Firewheel. In addition to his pre-established racism and homophobia, he is also shown to be an Anti-Semite.
