Major X is a 2019 comic book series from Marvel Comics, a six-issue limited series written and largely drawn by Rob Liefeld.

The title is considered an interquel between New Mutants #98 and X-Force #1, starring a new character in the form of the titular Major X. Notably, Liefeld had this idea all the way back in the '90s when he was working on the original Marvel comics, but couldn't implement them in time before leaving to found Image Comics.

Major X is from a dimension called the X-istence, a safe haven for mutants. Suddenly, it's threatened and terrorized, and his home is taken away from them. Major X makes the jump from that world and into 616, but the first jump didn't land in the first spot he was hoping. The first issue begins in 1991, and by the end, he will be in modern Marvel. Here, he seeks revenge against the X-Men, who he views as responsible for the cessation of his universe.

Major X provides examples of:

  • Genre Throwback: Major X is very much in the style of Liefeld's '90s work, from the action to the art style. Unsurprising since this was something he thought of back then.
  • Guns Akimbo: Major X favors two pistols for combat.
  • Insult Backfire: Cable calls Major X a "kid" when giving him a warning to surrender before he gets serious. Major X in turn says this:
Major X: This "kid" kicked your ass, soldier. You're lucky I need you alive.
  • Kid from the Future: Major X's parents are revealed to be the time-traveller Cable and Storm of the X-Men.
  • One-Man Army: Major X holds himself well against the X-Force all by himself.
  • Revenge: Major X views the X-Men as responsible for the destruction of X-istence, and now he seeks to kill them in return.
  • Superhero Packing Heat: Major X does have some mutant powers, but he Fights Like a Normal and relies on his guns most of the time.
