Destroyer is a Marvel MAX miniseries by Robert Kirkman.

Keene Marlow was a Golden Age hero of Marvel Comics' predecessor Timely Comics. In The Invaders (Marvel Comics), Destroyer was retconned as being Brian Falsworth, heir and successor to the title Union Jack. In the miniseries, Marlow appears as an aged hero who sets out to kill all supervillains before dying of heart failure.

Destroyer provides examples of:

  • Affirmative-Action Legacy: He was succeeded by two gay men while he was heterosexual.
  • Cool Old Guy: Still a deadly opponent even in his old age.
  • The Last Dance: After discovering that his heart will give out soon, Marlow sets out to kill as many villains as he can.
  • Legacy Character: Brian Falsworth and Roger Aubrey have all taken the Destroyer codename.
  • Old Superhero: Tried to kill supervillains even though he was already an old man.
  • Sidekick: The Turret.
  • Super-Strength: The Super-Soldier Serum derivative augmented Marlow's musculature, granting him a slight degree of superhuman strength. At his peak, Marlow possessed sufficient strength to lift approximately 1,000 lbs.
  • Super-Toughness: Marlow's bodily tissues were augmented by the Super-Soldier Serum derivative to the point that they were tougher and more resistant to some kinds of injury than the bodily tissues of an ordinary human.
  • Unfulfilled Purpose Misery: After learning that he's dying of heart failure, Keene decides to finish all of his unfinished business and kill off all his former supervillains.
