Deadpool is a 2019 series by Marvel Comics, written by Kelly Thompson with art by Chris Bachalo and Irene Strychalski.

After monsters take over Staten Island, Deadpool receives a job to kill the king of the monsters. But as usual, nothing is ever as simple as that when it comes to Deadpool.

The series lasted 10 issues, ending in January, 2021, after participating in King in Black. The series is followed by Deadpool (2022).

Deadpool (2019) provides examples of:

  • All Animals Are Dogs: Gwen gives her landshark Jeff to Deadpool because she wants him to live, and her own books keep getting canceled. Wade treats Jeff like a dog, and Jeff acts like one.
  • Bag of Holding: Jelby's body can store an infinite amount of obects, including Deadpool and Jeff the Baby Land Shark.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Jelby returns to help out Deadpool and Monster Island during the symbiote invasion.
  • Blob Monster: Jelby is a more humanoid example. His entire body is made of a purple jam-like see-thru substance.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: In issue #10, Wade complains about his series being Cut Short and spends a page lampshading having to shoehorn what he thinks is a messy, unsatisfactory conclusion that wraps up as many loose ends as possible into the King in Black tie-in.
  • I Choose to Stay: Jelby decides to stay on Krakoa after helping Deadool sneak in.
  • Loophole Abuse: Because non-mutants can't go through a Krakoan gate, Deadpool gets around this by getting
  • Ship Tease: Elsa Bloodstone with, of all people, Deadpool.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: Deadpool gets hired to kill a monster king who has annexed Staten Island, and it turns out monster law says that if you kill the king, you're the new king.
