Daredevil is a 2022 comic book series from Marvel Comics, written by Chip Zdarsky with art by Marco Checchetto. It is the seventh overall Daredevil series.

Written by Chip Zdarsky and illustrated by Marco Checchetto, it's A Sequel Series to Zdarsky's and Checchetto's previous 2019 Daredevil run, the series starts after the Devil's Reign event has shaken up the status quo.

The first issue was released July 13, 2022. The series concluded with Daredevil #14, released in August 2023.

A new Daredevil (2023) series, initially written by Saladin Ahmed with art by Aaron Kuder, launched in September 2023.

Daredevil (2022) contains examples of:

  • Bittersweet Ending: The run concludes with a victorious Matt escaping the Beast's Realm without his memories, giving him the unprecedented opportunity to start fresh free of guilt and sorrow. But the sounds of a nearby mugging cause him to relapse. As he stalks down an alley to inflict the violence he hoped to escape to enforce justice, his words to Butch Fisk about breaking free of self-destructive cycles play over the scene, now with a note of hypocrisy.
  • Boxed Crook: Matt breaks a lot of supervillains out of the Myrmidon—including the likes of Agony (Gemma Shin), Speed Demon (James Sanders), Bullet (Buck Cashman), and Stegron the Dinosaur Man (Dr. Vincent Stegron)—and recruits them into the Fist with the promise of therapy from Doc Sasquatch to help them overcome their criminal impulses and rehabilitate.
  • Bus Crash: Matt's ex Kirsten is leaving the city in the first issue, and Daredevil's racing to say goodbye to her. He doesn't get there before her train leaves. And then, some way down the track, the train explodes. However, after Matt confronts Goldy, it's subverted - he discovers that Kirsten hadn't gotten on the train yet, and is still alive. This confirms for Matt that he's a danger to Kirsten and strengthens his resolve to leave the city with Elektra.
  • Continuity Overlap: The 2022 Relaunch runs parallel with Punisher (2022). The Hand is the main connective tissue between the books, as Matt and Elektra's impending war with them has been complicated by the recent changes in the cult's leadership (i.e. Frank Castle becoming their new warlord).
  • Deal with the Devil: The Stromwyns offer one to Mayor Luke Cage, who promptly tells them where to stick it.
  • Dramatic Irony. Issue #6. Frank Castle's determined to kill Elektra and Matt in retaliation for the murder of the American President — and is unaware the 'assassination' was orchestrated by the Hand.
  • Guardian Angel: Robert Goldman reveals that he’s not a normal human and describes himself as Matt’s Guardian Angel. But, unfortunately, not Kirsten's.
  • Frame-Up: Issue #6. The Hand frames Elektra for the assassination of the American President (who'd been replaced by a Hand Zombie).
  • Internal Reveal: In Daredevil #3, Matt finally learns of the developments over in Punisher (2022) and that Frank Castle's now leading the Hand.
  • Kansas City Shuffle: Issue #5 reveals this is part of why Aka and the Hand recruited Frank Castle as their new General. The Punisher's an unwitting smokescreen meant to occupy the attention of the Hand's enemies while they execute a larger, global conspiracy of corruption and resurrection.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Following Devil's Reign, Spider-Man is one of those who's forgotten Daredevil's true identity. Matt reminds him in the first issue.
  • Money Is Not Power: Luke Cage makes that clear to the Stromwyns when they try to bully him.
Luke Cage: I'm not Fisk. I'm real power. And I have friends with magic hammers.
  • The Reveal: Daredevil #9 reveals the Fist has been compromised since the very beginning. Stick and Foggy were turned into sleeper agents back before Devil's Reign and the Fist's 'prophecy' has all been in service to the Hand.
  • Sequel Series: To the Daredevil (2019). Both Zdarsky and artist Checchetto return for the new book.
  • Wham Episode: Daredevil #9. The Stromwyns decimate the already-weakned Fist, leaving Matt and Elektra without their army. Foggy and Stick are killed, revealing themselves to have been Hand sleeper agents since before Devil's Reign and ensuring the Fist's campaign actually serviced the Hand.
  • Winds of Destiny, Change!: Robert Goldman, who claims to be Daredevil's Guardian Angel, has a variation on this. He can see how minor events create For Want Of A Nail changes, but he has to physically intervene to shape events in the desired way.
