Brit is a comic book by Image Comics, created by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore.

After three one-shot issues in 2003 and 2004 written by Robert Kirkman and drawn by Tony Moore, Brit got his own ongoing series in 2007, written by Bruce Brown. The series was still overseen by Kirkman, but only lasted twelve issues before the series came to an end.

The character reappeared in 2010 in the six-issue miniseries Guardians of the Globe.

Brit gained his invulnerability from a serum created by his father, used it to join the army, and now works for the government. He owns a topless bar and has accumulated a large fortune.

Brit provides examples of:

  • Alternate Universe: There is a reality where Brit became an overlord known as the Emperor and employed mind control to take over the world.
  • Brother–Sister Team: Brittany and his sister, Britney, team up to stop Sitter from enacting his rogue plan.
  • Cain and Abel and Seth: Brit is Abel, his sister Britney is Seth, and their brother Euclid is Cain.
  • The Chew Toy: Sure, Brit's invulnerable, but he gets knocked around constantly. Then it even happens to his infant son, whom Brit uses as a club upon realizing that said baby is just as invulnerable as his papa in the last issue (#12).
  • Cool Old Guy: Brit is easily one of the oldest human characters in the setting, and fits the definition of being a cool old guy: he is viewed as reliable by most heroes and led the second version of the Guardians of the Globe.
  • Death of the Hypotenuse: The third one-shot shows the death of Brit's ex-wife, Susan, during the alien invasion that took place in Invincible #16. It should be noted previously to this, Brit had told Jessica he didn't have romantic feelings for Susan anymore, but Jessica was still jealous.
  • Embarrassing First Name: Few characters in the series realize that Brit's name is short for Brittany.
  • Happily Married: Brit is married with Jessica, his wife, and they had Brittany, Jr., their son. Thanks to Sitter, they go through some marital issues due to Brit being cloned and Brit, Jr. abducted and replaced with a clone but eventually reconcile.
  • Hero of Another Story: Brit's own series shows him meeting his wife and her giving birth to their son, among other adventures. Of note, the third one-shot shows the alien invasion that took place during Invincible #16 and how it was actually stopped.
  • Involuntary Dance: In the first issue, the villain Master Mind takes control of hundreds of people on a stretch of highway and forces them to dance.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Brit is made of some material stronger than diamond, and it is said that he is practically indestructible.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Brit has Nigh-Invulnerability without Super-Strength, so his way of fighting super-strong villains is to let them throw him at nearby buildings and make them fall on their heads.
  • Shirtless Scene: Since he's Nigh Invulnerable but wears ordinary clothing, Brit is usually stripped naked by energy blasts about halfway through his fights. He has no Super-Strength or special abilities other than indestructibility — but when you can strap a nuclear device to your back and drop into enemy territory to detonate it, who needs super-strength?
  • Stone Wall: Brit is an average-sized man of about 60 who is completely invulnerable to harm, thanks to a serum created by his father. Unlike many other invulnerable characters in the setting, he has no other abilities, having the strength of a 60-ish-year-old man who works out.note
  • Super-Toughness: Being completely invulnerable is Brit's sole power, to the point that one mission consists of strapping a nuclear bomb to his chest, setting it off to kill the superpowered henchmen of a villain, and then taking a beating from the guy until his enemy is completely exhausted.
