Black Widow and Hawkeye is a 2024 four-issue comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics. The series is written by Stephanie Phillips, with pencilling by Paolo Villanelli, and colors by Mattia Iacono.
When Clint Barton is accused of assinatting a Russian Minister, Natasha Romanoff must track him down and find out what's going on.
The first issue was published March 13, 2024.
Black Widow and Hawkeye provide examples of:
- The Bus Came Back: Damon Dran returns in issue #2, after being killed in Black Widow 2014 #6.
- The Cameo: Bobbi Morse appears in issue #1 as a contact helping Natasha find Clint.
- The Casino: Clint participate in a closed poker game at a casino in issue #2.
- Conspicuously Public Assassination: Clint publicly shoots the foreign minister of Russia with an arrow in issue #1.
- Eat Brain for Memories: The Widow symbtiote allows Natasha to gain the memories of people through eating their brains.
- Empathic Weapon: The Widow symbiote is this, as it gets defensive of Natasha in issue #2 and tries to attack Clint for her.
- Flashback: The series is intercut with flashbacks of Clint and Natasha's first meeting, with Natasha wearing her original Black Widow outfit, mask and all.
- Over-the-Shoulder Carry: During a flashback in the second issue, Black Widow is knocked out and kidnapped by Snapdragon. She loads Natasha onto her shoulder and climbs with her up a rope ladder to a waiting helicopter to bring her to Snapdragon's boss.
- Poisoned Weapons: Clint is shot in the neck with a poison dart in issue #2.
- Red and Black and Evil All Over: The Widow symbiote copies Natasha's color scheme, but is more young and feral rather than evil.
- Spin-Off: The series spins off of Venom (2021), as Natasha is bonded to the Widow symbiote in that series.
- Unexplained Recovery: Daman Dran is somehow still alive after being killed in Black Widow 2014 #6.
- Unwanted Assistance: Clint doesn't want anyone's help, especially Natasha or Bobbi's.
- The Worm That Walks: The Widow symbtiote manifestes as a swarm of tiny spiders while not bonded to Natasha.
