Batman/Lobo was a DC Comics series published under the Elseworlds imprint in 2000, written by Alan Grant and illustrated by Simon Bisley.

After Batman has turned the Joker in back to Arkham Asylum, Lobo shows up to claim a bounty on the Joker's life for Scarface, only for the Joker to propose a counter-offer to discredit and kill Batman for ten million dollars.

Batman/Lobo provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Job Change: James Gordon and Alfred Pennyworth traditionally have the respective jobs of Gotham's police commissioner and the Wayne family's butler. Here, it's the other way around.
  • Adapted Out: The only members of the Bat-family shown are Dick Grayson as Nightwing and Tim Drake as Robin, with no mention made at all of Jason Todd or Barbara Gordon.
  • Composite Character: This continuity's Superman apparently used Jimmy Olsen as his civilian name, when in other continuities he was a separate person from Kal-El/Clark Kent.
  • Costume Copycat: Lobo disguises himself as Batman in an attempt to frame Batman for killing criminals.
  • Death by Adaptation: Nightwing, the Tim Drake Robin, Killer Croc, the Penguin and Arnold Wesker all die.
  • Explosive Cigar: Lobo kills the Penguin by giving him an explosive stogie.
  • Named by the Adaptation: The Joker's real name was a mystery at the time this one-shot was published, but in this continuity is given the civilian named of Joey Wayne due to being Bruce's twin brother.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Batman and the Joker are revealed to be twin brothers in this continuity, with the Joker's real name being Joey Wayne.
