Batman and Robin is an upcoming September 2023 ongoing comic from DC Comics, written by Joshua Williamson, and art by Simone De Mio.

It is a spinoff of Mark Waid and Mahmud Asrar's Batman vs. Robin (and by extension Lazarus Planet) and part of the Dawn of DC publishing initiative. It is also a relaunch of the Batman and Robin team book for the first time since the conclusion of Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleaon's New 52-era run in 2015.

Batman and Robin will pick up Bruce and Damian's storylines in the wake of the events of Batman vs. Robin, as father and son protect Gotham together again and investigate new threats to their city and family.

Batman and Robin provides examples of:

  • The Bus Came Back: The Dynamic Duo, at least in terms of a team book. This will be Batman and Robin's very first monthly team-up book since the conclusion of the Tomasi and Gleason run back in 2015.
  • Distaff Counterpart: Shush's appearance and name are based on Hush, although she has no real connection to him.
  • The Man in Front of the Man: The cliffhanger of #3 reveals that Shush's mysterious boss is Man-Bat, who had earlier appeared to be in his mindless animal form and used as a henchman.
  • Parent-Child Team: While they had reconciled during Shadow War, Bruce and Damian are now finally and officially back to being the Batman and Robin we know and love for the first time since the end of Tom King's Batman run.
  • Rule of Cute: In issue #7, Damian/Flatline's relationship is symbolized by a cute brown-feathered, red-breasted bird with a little bone on its beak.
  • Rule of Symbolism: In issue #7, Damian/Flatline's relationship is symbolized by a cute brown-feathered, red-breasted bird with a little bone on its beak.
  • Sequel Series: While technically spinning out of the events of Mark Waid's Batman and Robin and Lazarus Planet, it's also very much a sequel to Williamson's Robin run.
  • Spinoff: Of Mark Waid and Mahmud Astar's Batman vs. Robin.
  • Status Quo Is God: Batman and Robin have fully reconciled following their post-Tom King schism.
    • Although it is also subverted as while Bruce and Damian are the dynamic duo again they continue their crusade without access to Bruce unlimited wealth and without Alfred.
  • Thememobile: Advance artwork reveals Damian will be getting his own Robin-themed Batmobile.
