A common joke within the Meta Runner fandom is that the shows absolutely loves to end its episodes with Cliffhangers.

  • “Wrong Warp”: Tari unintentionally ends up within Ultra Jump Mania while Lucks orders his scientists to come down and investigate.
  • “Out Of Bounds”: Theo is revealed to have been unintentionally pulled into the real world.
  • “Bad Split”: Tari ends up captured by Belle and forced onto a van back to TASCorp while Theo escapes, but he soon comes across someone who’s seemingly intent on rescuing Tari.
  • “Aimbot”: Belle discovers a storage card on something called “Project Blue”, which features the mysterious logo on Tari’s shirt.
  • “Game Plan”: The episode ends as Lucks and Belle are on the verge of discovering something about Project Blue.
  • “One Shot”: The episode ends right as MD-5 are about to face off against the elite players once again.
  • “The Run”: Tari is the only member of MD-5 left in the game and is incapacitated by Belle, who’s planning on interrogating her about Lucinia.
  • “Shutdown”: Tari gives herself up to Lucks in order to let MD-5 walk away free, Theo ends up held hostage within his own microchip as collateral, Belle finds Sofia’s phone with the backup of TASCorp’s servers on it and keeps it for herself, and Lucks gets an update on the status of a body in cryostatis.
  • “Firewall”: MD-5 officially reunites, but are unable to do anything while Masa is without a Meta Runner arm… but Sofia knows a way to get one.
  • “Transfer Student”: Tari ends up learning that she needs to date Satsuki-chan to have any hopes of contacting Lamar, while Lucks transfers Theo back into Ultra Jump Mania... a corrupted and glitchy version, where Theo quickly ends up stuck to the floor, defenseless and surrounded by enemies.
  • “Hack and Slash”: After being marooned by Evelyn, Tari ends up in a surprise attack and gets surrounded by Minions.
  • “Friendly Fire”: Tari and Lamar try and make a break for it as Evelyn continues to take out the remaining players, while Masa, having just been eliminated by Evelyn, heads off to who-knows-where, claiming to be “getting ready for when this is all over”.
  • “Soft Lock”: Tari and Lamar manage to defeat Evelyn and escape with the server data, but Masa and Belle end up captured by Lucks and Theo is still stuck in his corrupted game, and keeping the server data private it the only way to keep them safe for now… but Tari has a plan to rescue them and defeat TASCorp once and for all.
  • “Nightmare Mode”: The episode ends as Tari and Theo start to make their last stand against Evelyn and the Glitchemoth.
  • “Fatal Error”: Right when MD-5 are about to leave Lucks to be arrested by the authorities, Masa’s Meta Runner arm suddenly gets hacked and he’s forced to shoot Lucks in the head, framing him for murder. Belle stays behind in part due to her involvement with TASCorp, the rest of MD-5 try to flee from the police only to run into Marco, and Evelyn is contacted by the still-alive Dr. Sheridan, who’s revealed to have orchestrated Lucks’ death and makes her an offer to help her get revenge on Tari for humiliating her.
  • “Power Down”: Tari, Masa and Belle are trapped in Sheridan’s simulation, and the later two can only watch as Sheridan begins to extract the fragments of Lucinia’s mind out of Tari.
  • “Testing Room”: A weakened Tari barely escapes Evelyn and Sheridan’s simulation, only to end up stuck in Skybreakers, and collapses from the knife wound inflicted on her. And Evelyn quickly joins the game to continue to hunt her down.
  • “Skybreakers”: After Evelyn’s attempt to hunt down Tari is thwarted by Tari’s friends, Sheridan decides to have Masa and Belle be Evelyn’s new teammates.
  • “Dead on Arrival”: Satisfied with the data gathered by Lucinia during her first field run, Sheridan prepares to put Masa and Belle through their “employee induction”.
  • “Death Warp”: While Tari, Theo and Marco manage to get through Sheridan’s backdoor, Lamar has ended up being warped into Sheridan’s server along with the other Meta Runners whom Evelyn’s been sending there, as Sheridan informs them that they’re now part of SHERCorp… and introduces the brainwashed Masa and Belle as his headliners.
  • “Global Testfire”: As Sheridan continues to spread Global Warp Technology across the world, the crew of the Bluejay and Evelyn and her brainwashed teammates prepare to duke it out over the portal into Sheridan’s server.
  • “Overload”: The last cliffhanger of the series has Tari lure Lucinia into falling with her into the portal to Sheridan’s server.
