The students are instructed by Sunny to use their creativity for the annual Peanut Pageant. If all goes well, the Peanut Council will give Westley School of Performing Arts money to fix some of the building's problems.

- Disappeared Dad: According to Madison, Lil' D has never met his dad (and his mom's apparently raising him as a single parent).
- Magical Negro: Sunny Bridges is black, and he's helping to music class to unlock their potential.
- Restored My Faith in Humanity: During the first half of the episode, Sunny is clearing becoming disillusioned with being a famous musician. But when he listens to Li'l D and his friends play their song, despite their feeling nobody listened, he voices that he was listening. If anything, their playing out of integrity inspires him to become their teacher.
- 10-Minute Retirement: Sunny Bridges was going to retire from playing music permanently, but Li'l D convinced him to become a music teacher.
