The Protagonists
Yuga Senku
The main protagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh! Xross. An aspiring Duelist and a fan of dueling his whole life, he is caught in a battle against mysterious beings called Arkons as he tries to unravel the secret of his mysterious "Cross Magician".
- Alchemy Is Magic: His deck, the "Krysta" monsters are based on the concepts within western alchemy and mythical creatures from various myths and legends around the world.
- Berserk Button: Don't call him pathetic, or he'll lose it.
- Deadpan Snarker: Constantly calls out the unfairness of some of the cards used by the other characters.
- Guest Fighter: Briefly appeared in Yu-Gi-Oh! Dissidia where he dueled against Vector.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He acts like an arrogant asshole half the time, which pushes people away from him. But he genuinely wants to make friends.
- Magic Knight: His ace monster, Cross Magician is a Spellcaster-type monster, yet wields a sword.
- Shout-Out: Yuga's design is practically made from them.
- A Millenium Puzzle-shaped keychain is hanging from his belt.
- The "39" on his shirt is a reference to Number 39: Utopia from Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.
- The star on his left glove is based on Yuya's goggles from Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V.
Ryoma Senku
Yuga's older brother and a police inspector investigating the Arkon-related crimes.
- Lead Police Detective: Seemed to be in charge of a small squad of forensics at the scene of a crime.
Keishi Kagami
A duelling otaku and cosplayer. She's one of Yuga's friends.
- Cosplay Otaku Girl: She almost always dresses in cosplay when she's allowed to.
Takumi Ongaku
A student at Haven Senior Academy & a guitarist. He's one of Yuga's friends.
- Affectionate Nickname: "Mullet Man", though its origins were less than affectionate.
- Hot-Blooded: Much more headstrong than either Yuga or Keishi
- Our Demons Are Different: His deck: The Metal Oni are based more on Japanese Oni than western-influenced demons.
Arkons
Raiz
A being from another dimension called an "Arkon". He looks down on humans as "inferior beings" and considers his race gods in comparison.
- Fantastic Racism: Sees humanity as no more than insects. And has the strength to prove it.
- Playing Card Motifs: His monsters, the "Trump Fiends" are all based on the Ace, King, Queen and Jack of each of the 4 suits.
- Sadist: Let's take a look at this line from CHAPTER 1 of all places.Show me your last-ditch effort! Show me your desperation! SHOW ME YOUR DESPAIR!
- Sore Loser: In order to not lose to Yuga, he throws a CONCRETE PILLAR AT HIM in an attempt to kill him.
Veiss
An Arkon and Raiz's comrade. He seems to be working for a mysterious "Council".
- No Sense of Humor:You Know me, Raiz. I don't joke.
