- Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Even Orochimaru had trouble telling where his loyalties laid at times.
- Go-Karting with Bowser: Naruto manages to have a polite conversation and lunch with Kabuto, even noting that if it weren't for Kabuto's inability to stay allied with any one person or faction, he (Kabuto) would be one of Naruto's top three choices for a spymaster.
Kin Tsuchi
- Back from the Dead: Was used as a sacrifice for Orochimaru's Edo Tensei, just like in canon. Waltz uses his God's Tear sword to sever the connection between the sacrifice and the soul, meaning she got revived and technically lived through having all eight gates open.
- Heel–Face Turn: After the Invasion. She takes Tenten's place on Team Gai after she's promoted.
- Ship Tease: With Lee. By the time Take Two Round Two rolls around, they're dating.
