The Beatles
The famous rock band are the protagonists of the movie who are on journey to save Pepperland. General
- Dull Surprise: Absolutely nothing seems to scare or surprise them that much.
John Lennon

- Frankenstein's Monster: For unexplained reasons, when the others come across him in Ringo's house, he looks like Frankenstein's monster. But after he drinks some sort of serum, he turns to normal, and says that he's just had the strangest dream.
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: He frequently says that weird things the Beatles see relates to Einstein's Theory of Relativity, but never properly explains how, with his "scientific" commentary usually devolving into nonsense.
- Technobabble: In a parody of his tendency towards profound pronouncements, Lennon's character attempts to explain the uncanny resemblance between themselves and Sgt. Pepper's Band. The other characters promptly laugh it off and attempt to bash open their glass prison while he's still talking. It gets better. If you listen closely, John's explanation eventually devolves into some kind of recipenote

- The Eeyore: Starts out as this, being gloomy and complaining about everything, but over the course of the journey in the submarine he becomes more cheerful.
- Eldritch Location: His house is one, full of bizarre creatures, Alien Geometry, Bigger on the Inside rooms, and other strange stuff.
- Pet the Dog: He's the only Beatle to show kindness to Jeremy (at first), and offers him a place on the submarine.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: He doesn't act as if any of the weird phenomena in his house is at all unusual.
The Blue Meanies
A race of blue fierce, but buffoonish beings who hate music and take over Pepperland. They are the main antagonists of the film. General
- Blue Is Heroic: Inverted. They're all varying shades of a bright blue, and pretty much all of them are far from good...Well, until the end of the movie, that is.
- Fun-Hating Villain: What seems to be their primary motivation for wanting to turn Pepperland "Blue". Blue Meanies hate music.
- A Nazi by Any Other Name: The Blue Meanies. Hence the joke where the Chief Blue Meanie moans about where they could go since they were defeated, and Max suggests "Argentina?" The Chief also invokes Today, X. Tomorrow, the World!.
- Ur-Example: The Blue Meanies are a rare example of an antagonistic force that prominently features various types of Mooks of all shapes and sizes alongside the standard foot soldiers, all sharing one or two identifying visual traits associated with their faction. This makes them shockingly closer to Mooks in video games several decades before the medium surfaced.
Chief Blue Meanie

Leader of the Meanies.- Ambiguously Gay: It's hard to tell whether he's supposed to be Camp Gay or an Evil Aristocrat type, since there's a fine line between camp and effete.
- Big Bad: He's the one who leads the Blue Meanies to attack Pepperland.
- Defeat Means Friendship: After Jeremy eliminates him as a threat, the Chief goes through a Heel–Face Turn and becomes friendly with Jeremy.
- Faux Affably Evil: He often puts on a gentle and friendly demeanor, but it's all an act, as his Hair-Trigger Temper shows.
- Evil Is Hammy: Good lord, does he fit this to a T. The Chief can go from soft-spoken to hollering at the top of his lungs at the drop of a dime. Especially around Max.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He seems to treat the Dreadful Flying Glove like he would a pet dog.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: It really doesn't take much to get a reaction out of this guy.
- Heel–Face Turn: Once Pepperland is restored by the Beatles music, and after being humiliatingly decorated with roses by Jeremy, the Chief accepts John's offer of friendship, deciding that if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
- Kick the Dog: His abuse of his loyal underling Max, who's also the nicest of the meanies.
- Large and in Charge: In comparison to the other Blue Meanies, the chief is about twice their height.
- Laughably Evil: Practically every scene he's in drips with comedy.
- Psychopathic Manchild: He throws childish temper tantrums when things don't go his way.
- Sissy Villain: He often talks very campy and effeminately.
- Soft-Spoken Sadist: Half of his dialogue is whispered softly and gently, despite his deeds being just as evil as when he's raging.
- Suddenly Shouting: He can go from softly whispering to screaming in an instant, he's prone at shouting big "WHAT?!?"s.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Initially being abusive and cruel to Max, once he decides to befriend the Beatles, he becomes much softer towards him.
- Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: Pepperland is a sweet colorful paradise of fun, but the Chief Blue Meanie is horrifyingly effective in sucking the soul out of it.
Max

The Chief's Number Two and personal punching bag.- Affably Evil: He's more chipper and cheerful compared to Chief Blue Meanie, who swap moods at the drop of a dime.
- Butt-Monkey: Any scene he shares with the Chief usually results in him getting yelled at, or clobbered.
- Yes-Man: The obedient toady of the Chief Blue Meanie. He's eager to say yes to his boss, except he has to substitute it with "no" because the Chief hates everything positive, including the word "yes".
The Dreadful Flying Glove
The Dreadful Flying Glove
The Chief's top enforcer and a flying glove with a dreadful personality.- The Dragon: The Chief's top enforcer and the most deadly of the fighters. It also counts as a Dragon-in-Chief as its far more physically dangerous than the Chief and the fact its defeat is what causes the Blue Meanies to retreat.
- The Dreaded: It's the most deadly enforcer of the Chief, entrusted with the most vital tasks, and it's very telling that upon its defeat, that the Blue Meanies lose their resolve to fight, retreating for their lives.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: He's a flying glove with a dreadful personality.
- Sadist: Some of his actions including deliberately hitting inches away from his targets in a prolonged manner and his Evil Laugh indicate he enjoys the suffering of others.
- Vile Villain, Laughable Lackey: Inverted. As unsettling as the Chief's Mood-Swinger personality is, he's ultimately too darkly comedic, non-combative and melodramatic to be a threat on his own. The Dreadful Flying Glove lacks the more silly and quirky personality of his colleagues, being a sadistic, violent, and cruel entity that is heavily implied to have joined to indulge in his sadism rather than eliminating music like the others. And it's the most physically dangerous of the group.
- Villainous Breakdown: As Jon Lennon continues his song that hinders and humiliates The Dreadful Flying Glove, it gradually loses its calm, sadistic demeanor as he vents out angrily before charging blindly.
The Four-Headed Bulldog
The Four-Headed Bulldog
- Multiple Head Case: It has four heads, but the heads are arranged in a coordinate direction rather than four heads in front like most multi-headed dogs. Additionally, the heads have two legs underneath, giving the image of four dog front quarters including heads connecting together without hindquarters.
Types of Blue Meanies
The Storm Bloopers
The Storm Bloopers
The Apple Bonkers
The Apple Bonkers
Gigantic, slender Meanies, so named for their tactic of dropping giant apples on people and freezing them.- Edible Bludgeon: Their weapons are giant apples, one of which the Beatles try to eat.
- Lean and Mean: They are incredibly thin, with long, narrow faces.
- Our Giants Are Bigger: Each of them is roughly as tall as four grown men stacked atop each other.
The Snapping-Turtle Turks
The Countdown Clowns
The Butterfly Stompers
The Hidden Persuaders
The Hidden Persuaders
The Jack-the-Nippers
The Jack-the-Nippers
- Animal Motifs: Lizards; their hands are reptilian heads and their green suits resemble lizard scales.
- Bald of Evil: They all have receding hairlines.
Others
Old Fred
Jeremy Hillary Boob
Jeremy Hillary Boob, PhD.

- Absent-Minded Professor: Sort of. He does have a PhD but lives in Nowhere Land, so it's unlikely he's been teaching any courses.
- The Ace: Claims he is this, but in reality he's more of a...
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: "If I spoke prose, you'd all find out / I don't know what I talk about!"
- Rhymes on a Dime: The above is his answer to John asking him if he must always talk in rhyme.
- Unfortunate Names: Just look at his last name and avoid snickering (it's presumably meant to be the "dumb individual" kind). Also Ringo pronounces the PhD title alongside his name as "Phud."

- Identical Stranger: The four of them look exactly like The Beatles, but are from Pepperland rather than Liverpool.
