    Fred Carson/The Wonder Man

Fred Carson was an American radio technician who was given a magic ring by Tibetan monks. With his new powers, he fights crime as the Wonder Man.

The spoiled daughter of Carson's boss, who has decided to join the Red Cross.

  • Action Girl: She tries to hold a guard at gunpoint to escape Attilla's prison, but it turns out to be the Wonder Man.
  • Damsel in Distress: Captured by Attila soon after arriving in Tatonia.
  • Love Interest: Her and the Wonder Man fall for each other over the course of the story.
  • Loves My Alter Ego: She's in love with Wonder Man but not Fred Carson.
  • Sudden Name Change: Her name changes to "Nora" halfway through the story.

    General Attilla 

The fascist dictator of Tatonka, Attilla is currently dealing with a rebellion, which he intends to use any means to put down.


Tropes:

  • Big Bad: His authoritarian regime is responsible for the comic's conflict.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Attilla's regime is first seen shooting a crowd of homeless refugees for demanding food.
  • The Generalissimo: Attilla is a stereotypical tinpot dictator, down to the military ranking and having absolute power over a Third World country.
  • Karma Houdini: The Wonder Man lets Attilla escape, albeit giving him a scar to remind him that if he tries anything evil again he's screwed.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: His name was chosen to reflect Attila the Hun, a notorious historical tyrant.
  • Screw the Rules, I Make Them!: Attilla cares not about what anybody else wants, he's the absolute ruler of his country.
  • Shoot the Medic First: Attilla has his planes bomb Red Cross camps.
  • The Sociopath: General Attilla, a ruthless tinpot dictator whose response to his people starving is to take more food and massacre anybody who protests, including Red Cross personnel. When Wonder Man helps the people topple him, he simply decides that he's gonna start another war to take power again.
  • War for Fun and Profit: After his government is toppled, the General conspires with his inner circle to start another civil war to take back power in the chaos.

    Reggie Berold 

Brenda's fiance, who has also joined the Red Cross

  • Dirty Coward: Reggie offers to pay a ransom the second he's captured, and spends his entire time assisting the Wonder Man complaining about how everything frightens him.
  • Distressed Dude: Captured by Attila soon after arriving in Tatonia.
  • Fake Ultimate Hero: Takes the credit for saving Brenda, despite the Wonder Man doing the actual work.
  • Jerkass: Despite joining the Red Cross, Reggie has no interest in helping people and threatens to assault Carson when he makes a passing remark about his playboy nature.
  • Upper-Class Twit: Literally joined the Red Cross to watch the civil war play out because he was bored.

    Donald Hastings 

Carson's boss at the radio news company and Brenda's father.
