Parents and Guardians

    David And Holly Vega
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/473px-Parents_7566.jpg
Portrayed by: Jim Pirri and Jennifer Carta

  • Good Parents: Alternate between this and neglectful ones.
  • Mama Bear: Holly in "Crazy Ponnie".
  • Only Sane Man: Besides their less than warm treatment of Trina, David and Holly seem to be the only parental figures on this show that are respectable adults, treat their kids well, and are still a family that loves each other.
  • Parental Neglect: Have been doing this throughout the show, but Holly is shown neglecting her children the most, making breakfast only for herself in "Driving Tori Crazy". Also, when Trina gets her wisdom teeth out and is in immense pain, they suddenly have a vacation they need to go on and leave Tori to deal with it.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: The pilot episode and "The Birthweek Song" showed them being kind to and caring about Trina. As the show went on, they began to have little care for her. Now in one of the newest episodes, "Driving Tori Crazy", Holly is shown being rather indifferent to Tori. It seems the show is trying to have them slowly slip into being uncaring parents.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: In "Freak the Freak Out", after Trina got her wisdom teeth pulled out, they refuse to take care of her, instead they go to Santa Barbara and put Tori in charge, and David walked in to see his daughter getting attacked by Hayley and Tara, he WALKS OUT of the house and tells his wife to get back in the car. He could have easily stopped this by arresting or calling for backup as a police officer.
    • He also cared more about the camera getting destroyed instead of his daughter Trina getting hurt by Tori.

    Charlotte Harris
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/204784482_9.jpg
Portrayed by: Marilyn Harris
  • Cloudcuckoolander: More so than Cat.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: Charlotte believes that the post office is "run by aliens trying to enter your home and steal your ketchup." What.
  • Everything Trying to Kill You: Believes this, amongst everything else.
  • Funny Schizophrenia: It's implied, but never outright stated, that the explanation for her bizarre paranoid delusions is that she suffers from Schizophrenia. Due to its cartoonish portrayal, it sometimes slips into Dude, Not Funny! territory.
  • Hysterical Woman: And HOW.
  • No Indoor Voice : She once used it to drive a butterfly out of Cat's left ear. (It came out of her right ear...) She also screamed so loud over the phone that it made Beck and Tori think André had it set to speaker phone. He didn't...
  • Scatterbrained Senior: Saying she has a loose grip on reality is a major understatement.
  • Supreme Chef: Andre' stated that "she makes a mean french toast."
  • They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: Convinced that her 7-year old neighbor is plotting to kill her because he was holding a plastic knife.

    Mr. West
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/s_Dad_8332.png
Portrayed by: Roy Werner
  • Defrosting Ice King: Jade described him as "cold and judgmental." He eventually admits that Jade's play was excellent.
  • Jock Dad, Nerd Son: Hates everything concerning creative activities and believes that anyone who performs them are stupid.
  • Lethal Chef: The one time he make breakfast for Jade, she spent the rest of the morning throwing up.
  • Not Bad: He admits (with averted eyes) that he thought Jade's play was excellent.
  • Parental Neglect: According to one of Jade's videos on the Slap, he never pays any real attention to her, constantly ignoring her in favor of his new wife.
  • Resentful Guardian: According to Jade, he practically hates her and disapproves of her tattoos and piercings. They clearly have a very formal relationship and they like to keep their interactions brief.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Very aloof and cold towards his own daughter, but he does spend time with his new wife and her dog.

Minor and One-Shot Characters

    Cat's Brother

  • Ax-Crazy: He got a few gallons of blood for Jade's play in "Prom Wrecker"... apparently, he missed the memo that it was supposed to be fake blood.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: He makes Cat look normal by comparison.
  • The Ghost: For as often as we hear about him, we never see him.
  • Made of Iron: He's been stabbed in Japan, shot by his clown-dressed cousin, even fallen out of a 4th-story building onto the roof of a shuttle bus in Vegas... and he's still kicking.
  • No Name Given: We never learn his name. Henry Danger heavily implies that he's the social media star Frankini, but even then that's just his stage name.
  • Noodle Incident: Pretty much every time we hear about him, it's about him being involved with something unusual... and sometimes illegal.
  • Running Gag: His antics make for very off-putting stories that Cat finds herself spewing like a fountain in just about every other episode.
  • Unknown Character: He gets mentioned in many episodes and in a few cases helps indirectly drive the plot, but we never meet him.

    Hayley Ferguson and Tara Ganz
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Hayley-and-tara_4278.jpg
Portrayed by: Jillian Clare and Jamie Snow

  • Arc Villain: The Big Bad Duumvirate of the "Freak The Freak Out" special.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Their looks are hot, but their personalities are not. Seems to be a common flaw with girls that go to Northridge.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: On the receiving end and brutally stomped upon by Cat and Jade during the karaoke contest. They get stomped again later in the episode by Tori.
  • Daddy's Girl: Yet they both stood victorious in the end because Hayley's father was the owner of the club. Cat flat out implies that Hayley's father doesn't love her. It took another curb-stomping from Tori to have her father reconsider that decision.
  • Evil Versus Evil: With Jade West.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Averted. Their singing isn't exaggeratedly bad, but it's instead rather mediocre, especially compared to Jade and Cat.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: In the first half. They never stood a chance against Cat and Jade (or really most people from Hollywood Arts), but because Hayley's father owns Karaoke Dokie, they were going to win no matter how terrible they were. This gets subverted in the second half once they agree to leave the final verdict up to the audience.
  • Identical Stranger: Tara's actress also appeared in "Stage Fighting". That girl Robbie sat Rex beside at the 6-minute mark. Funnily enough, this girl goes to Hollywood Arts.
  • Irony: For her audition in "Tori Goes Platinum", Tara sings "Give It Up", the very song Jade and Cat sang against her and Hayley in "Freak the Freak Out".
  • I Gave My Word: Even though they could've simply not done it, they were willing to uphold their end of the bargain upon losing to Tori and take care of Trina, despite how much of a hard time they could already tell they were in for.
  • Jerkasses: They don't do anything illegal, nor do they put their hands on anyone (except Beck), but they're still generally one-note bitches from a rival school who somehow still manage to make Jade (who was admittedly more grouchy than callous this time around) look personable. Let me repeat that: these two, who don't even do anything particularly wrong, make Jade look nice. Think about that...
  • Laser-Guided Karma: They accept a bet they ultimately had no chance of succeeding in because they agreed to let the audience choose who wins the sing-off. As a result, they not only did they lose horribly (again), but they end up having to take care of Trina, who was in the middle of an agonizing recovery from dental procedures.
  • One-Shot Character: They only appear in the "Freak The Freak Out" special.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Hayley's father owns Karaoke Dokie. That's the only reason she and Tara won against Cat and Jade.
  • Spoiled Brat: Hayley.
  • The Vamp: Both girls had no qualms with flirting with Beck (a taken guy) and Andre until they found out they went to Hollywood Arts.

    Hope Quincy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px-Hope_5477.png
Portrayed by: Meagan Holder
  • Berserk Button: "Sassing" her is a definite way to set her off.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Within the first minute of her appearance, she happily invites Tori, Beck, and Robbie to sushi with her and Andre. By her second appearance, she's a full-blown bitch who questions Tori's presence at her party and outright tells her to keep her mouth shut.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: It's pretty clear later on that she is indeed jealous of Tori, most likely her friendship with Andre.
  • Daddy's Girl: More so than Hayley, as it's visibly see how spoiled she is. It's subverted though, when she gains a minor concussion from falling debris during the earthquake, her father prefers to watch Tori's and Andre's performance for a second time than to meet her at the hospital. The party-goers actually did the same thing.
  • Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead: The fact that she gets knocked out during the earthquake right in front of Andre puts a smile on his face.
  • One-Shot Character: She only appears in one episode and is never seen or heard from ever again.
  • Spoiled Brat: Flipped out on the hostess over the food at her party.
  • Too Dumb to Live: During the earthquake, she's worried about her presents instead of taking covers like everyone did. You can guess how that went.
  • Tsundere: If Yandere, she's not too far from the typical, murderous example; even when Andre dumps her, she's still hell-bent on having him sing at her birthday party. Those mood-swings don't help her much, either.

    Wing Lee
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px-Mrs__Lee_4635.jpg
Portrayed by: Susan Chuang
  • Dragon Lady: Upon her makeover since opening Nozu's, though her actual ethnicity is unknown.
  • Deal with the Devil: She was only going to invest in Jade's play if her daughter was to star as a singing angel. Unfortunately, her daughter was known as "talentless and irritating".
  • Disposing of a Body: Outright told her employee to get rid of a stroke-feigning Trina in this manner.
Wing: Just drag her body out by the dumpster and don't say nothing to nobody!
    Everyone: O_O
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Or something like that...a subverted example, it's implied that she caused the "mysterious fire" that burned down Wok Star to build Nozu. Played straight in her first appearance, in that her obsession with getting a picture with a celebrity for her wall made her miss opening night of the play.
  • Interchangeable Asian Cultures: Wok Star was a Chinese restaurant and Nozu is a Japanese/sushi restaurant, leading to Tori to ask her which ethnicity she is.
  • Karma Houdini: Most likely burned down her own restaurant and got away with it.
  • Mama Bear: She reappears in "Andre's Horrible Girl", and it's eerily implied that she will get back at Tori for what she did to her daughter in "Wok Star", though it's hard to say whether it's implied on bound to happen seeing she outright told Tori she was to exact payback. Both tropes are played straight in a way in "How Trina Got In". Albeit, if Robbie hadn't forgotten his wallet or Tori had thought to bring hers, she would have missed out on this opportunity.
  • Stage Mom: Practically commands her daughter to speak louder.
    Daisy: Hi...
    Wing: More power!
    Daisy: HI!

    Dale Squires
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px-Dale_4507.jpg
Portrayed by: Stephen Lunsford
  • Asshole Victim: Right after his Jerkass Realization, he gets his ass kicked by Kendra on national television.
  • Jerkass: Took all of the credit for the film Tori "directed" herself, and told her that's how the movie business is.
  • Jerkass Realization: His conscious caught up with him and he gave Tori and the others the credit they deserved during his confession. Unfortunately, it was too late for that.
  • Lazy Bum: Did completely nothing during the filming of the gang's movie and still took the credit for anything.
  • Manipulative Editing: When he changed the credits in the movie.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: He's a real asshole, yet has his own website with tons of adoring fans.

    Kendra Harris
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/180px-Kendra_4178.jpg
Portrayed by: Mara Hall

    Kwakoo
Portrayed by: Née Léau
  • Ambiguously Brown: Despite how it seems, Kwakoo is not actually Japanese. However, he might be Polynesian, much like his actor.
  • As Long as It Sounds Foreign: "Kwakoo" is not a real Japanese name, but in fact based on a Nigerian name "Kwaku".
  • The Big Guy: He is Mrs. Lee's bodyguard at Nozu
  • Stout Strength: While he is on the portly side, he's strong enough to hoist Tori over his shoulder, carry her a good distance, and then sit her down on a bar top, all with one arm.

    Melinda Murray
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/275px-MelindaMurray_4966.jpg
Portrayed by: Ellen Hollman
  • And There Was Much Rejoicing: Everyone on the set rejoiced when Tori inadvertently had her sent to the hospital due to her arrow-injury.
  • Alliterative Name: Melinda Murray
  • Berserk Button: Apparently correcting her is one.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Fired Beck because he was friends with Tori, who had corrected her line while Beck had done nothing at all. Then she kicks Tori off the set.
  • Hated by All: The whole cast and crew despised her.
  • Impaled Palm: Melinda got a crossbow bolt through her palm, causing her to get pulled out of the film. Cue the staff and co-actors rejoicing over the cause of the accident and hailing "Crystal Waters" as a hero.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: More like Arrow-Guided Karma; she accidentally shouts out the cue for someone to fire a crossbow on the set while yelling at Tori and is shot in the hand in the process.
  • Nice Character, Mean Actor: In-universe. Her character was more serious than nice, and it didn't take that long to show that she's a complete bitch.

    Ponnie/Fawn Leibowitz
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ponnie_5984.jpg
Portrayed by: Jennette McCurdy

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking
Sikowitz: She's crazy! She stole things, had weird things in her backpack, and called everyone Debby.(At Ponnie) A real nut job, she is!
  • Ascended Extra: Pretends to be one of the unnamed extras in Sikowitz' class:
Ponnie: You probably never noticed me. I'm one of the quiet kids who sits in the back and just reacts to stuff.
    Tori: You're a "Shrugger"?
    Ponnie:(shrugs sheepishly and mumbles "Yeah.")
  • Dark Action Girl: Apparently took out multiple trained police officers and divested one of his uniform.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Was pushed to this due to social isolation.
  • Eating Lunch Alone: Tori meets her for the first time in the bathroom stall.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She was so crazy that even Sikowitz stated she was insane.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: The title of the episode, "Crazy Ponnie", gave it all away.
  • Expy: She WILL remind you of another certain psychotic brunette in iCarly, purely motivated by vengeance.
  • Hidden Depths: Her real name isn't Ponnie, and was kicked out of Hollywood Arts after 3 years just so they could make room for Tori, except Sikowitz tells Tori she was actually kicked out for being crazy.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Seems to be this way at first, when she's pretending to be a sad, lonely nerdy girl. It turns out that she's just Ax-Crazy and hell-bent on driving Tori insane.
  • Knight of Cerebus: For a One-Shot Character, her presence was rather disconcerting and chilling, especially since "Crazy Ponnie" was a Standalone Episode for Tori where no one believed she was being antagonized by her. She even gets a cliffhanger, and it's not played for laughs.
  • Never My Fault: She blames Tori for her getting expelled from Hollywood Arts and spent her entire episode trying to get revenge on her for it. In actuality she was expelled for her own behaviors and it just happened to be around the same time Tori enrolled.
  • Revenge: Exacts this on Tori. See Hidden Depths.
  • Shrinking Violet: At first.
  • Wham Line:
"I belong at this school. I wanna make it shine. It's my time to be!"

    The Yerbanian Chancellor
Portrayed by: Mueen Jahan Ahmad
  • Arc Villain: Of Locked Up.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He is heartbroken by the death of his pet octopus and has Tori's friends arrested for accidentally killing it.
  • Eye Scream: One of his eyes stopped working after he was bitten by a vampire moth, and Tori's shoe flying off her foot and into his face blinds him in the other eye.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: He has the cast arrested for accidentally blinding his other eye and killing his octopus. He also refused to accept that Tori's apology unless she said she deliberately threw her shoe at him.
  • Hidden Depths: The official TheSlap website shows he grew fond of Cat and put a picture of him and her on all Yerbanian money.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Dictator of a small country that is currently under civil war. Not something you usually see in the Nickverse.

    Mason Thornesmith
Portrayed by: Charles Shaughnessy
The producer of Platinum Records, when Tori wins an audition to work for him. He wants Tori to change her image and personality, and when she decides she doesn't want to he fires her and passes the deal onto Jade. Later Jade gives the chance back to Tori, and Mason isn't happy about it but accepts it nonetheless. He later returns to buy Rex from Robbie.
  • Arc Villain: Of Tori Goes Platinum.
  • Expy: Seems to be one for George Hawk.
    • Mason is also a lot like Alan Krim, the central antagonist of the Drake & Josh finale "Really Big Shrimp". Both are Corrupt Corporate Executives who try to use the main character's talent for selfish ends, but while Alan wanted to tailor Drake's music to his own preferences without the musician's consent, Mason was more focused on sculpting Tori's image into something she wasn't. Mason also makes a Heel–Face Turn (sort of) and realizes image doesn't define talent, whereas Alan maintains his villainous convictions until he gets fired by his boss for his scheming.
  • Jerkass: He doesn't care if he's ruining Tori's life and friendships. All he cares about is making her what he wants her to be.
  • Kick the Dog: When Tori decides she isn't going to be his puppet, he doesn't take it very well.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite Tori standing up to him, he is still shown working with Tori in later episodes.
  • Spoiled Brat: Has one for a son.

    Mamaw Shapiro
Portrayed by: Renée Taylor
  • Expy: To Slyvia Fine from The Nanny (Also played by Renée Taylor).
