Markos's Household

     The Player Character

The Player Character

A young Caitiff who is Markos's adopted childe.

  • I Love You, Vampire Son: Some epilogues give you the option to Embrace Isidoros or adopt a childe of your own, and you have this relationship with your new brood.
  • May–December Romance: Most of your romance options are significantly older than you (except for Persa, who's only a little bit older).
  • Pinball Protagonist: While you have some choices, in many ways you're trapped by the machinations and failings of the elders and can't escape—in other words, you're paying for the sins of the sires.
  • Tattooed Crook: Many of the available backgrounds involve petty crime, and you can also choose to have gotten a lot of tattoos in life, making you this.
  • Would Not Hurt A Child: If you pick that you were a parent while you were alive, one of the available convictions is that you will never hurt a child.

     Markos

Markos Petrou

The player character's boss and mentor, a Tremere originally from Vienna.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Will shamelessly beg for Persa's life if she pisses Sophia off by trying to help a Ventrue player character escape.
  • Badass Bookworm: A feared fixer, no slouch in combat, and a huge nerd.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Peisistratos and his court don't actually like Markos, or fully trust him, they just need him. Until they decide they don't.
  • In Love with the Mark: A Ventrue player character was Embraced specifically as a sacrifice, and Markos took them in so Sophia wouldn't get attached...and when the time comes to actually sacrifice you, he's gotten attached. Not that it helps you one bit. The same goes for a Banu Haqim player character, whom Markos was supposed to destroy if it ever looked like they would become a danger to Kapriel.
  • Killed Off for Real: It's possible for him to be diablerized by Kapriel, who will then torment you with the idea Markos might be aware inside him.

     Persa

Persephone Trigoniou

Markos's true childe, who resents the player character for being his favorite.

Other Vampires

    Peisistratos

Peisistratos

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peisistratos350.PNG
The Malkavian Prince of Athens.
  • Fan of the Past: He's obsessed with Classical Athens to the point where the player character is surprised to see him wearing modern clothing.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: He is approximately as sexist as the time period he's obsessed with. If a female player character ends up being a Malkavian and Peisistratos remains Prince, he'll still claim you as his childe, but will foist a male name upon you.
  • What Does She See in Him?: Nobody gets why he likes Amphitryon so much or made him Seneschal, since Amphitryon isn't that smart, good at fighting, or even possessed of good taste in art.

     Neoptolemus

Neoptolemus

Peisistratos' Scythian (Sheriff) as well as his childe.

    Amphitryon

Amphitryon

Peisistratos' Seneschal.

    Vole

Vole

The Nosferatu Primogen.
  • The Shut-In: Ever since he came back from the Beckoning, he never leaves his sewer lair unless forced to.

    Dio

Dio

The Toreador Primogen.

    Sophia Komnenou

Sophia Komnenou

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sophiakomnenou350.PNG
A powerful Ventrue who has never forgiven Peisistratos for sidelining her after she helped him to destroy his predecessor.

  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: The court doesn't give her any credit for the huge role she played in bringing Peisistratos to power.
  • Offing the Offspring: If you are a Ventrue, Sophia learned of a prophecy that she would need to kill her own childe to become Prince, and Embraced you for that purpose.

    Gor Kanayan

Gor Kanayan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gor350.PNG
An idealistic Banu Haqim.
  • Frame-Up: He's the fall guy for Amphitryon's murder.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: He genuinely wants to help the people in the squat.
  • Killed Off for Real: Once the blood hunt on Gor is triggered, he's a dead man walking; either you kill him, Kapriel kills him, or the Anarchs he mistakenly trusted trade you and him both back for assurance they can have a foothold in Athens.
  • Kiss of Death: He takes down an opponent by forcing a kiss on her, which poisons her (this particular Blood Sorcery power is called the Scorpion's Touch, which makes the user's blood poisonous to others; it can be smeared on weapons or spat, but under pressure it's a lot easier to just bite your own tongue and French your target).
  • Meaningful Name: "Kanayan" means "the one who bleeds" in Armenian (influenced by Turkish), a rather fitting name for a vampire and especially fitting for Gor.

Humans

     Isidoros

Isidoros

  • Kill the Ones You Love: In his backstory, he was forced to stake his fellow monk and lover out in the sun, after the poor guy was Embraced and abandoned and nearly ate Isidoros.
