Protagonists
Mirror Man
Jesu
Jesu
Mirror Man's Only Friend, a rock with a crude depiction of Jesus Christ's face scrawled onto it. The game is kicked off by the need to push him around to explore the strange world Mirror Man finds himself in. Though there's a chance he might not be all there when you meet up...- Only Friend: Aside from Omen, he's the closest thing Mirror Man has to an ally.
Sphere Family
Israel
Israel
The first sphere that isn't Jesu which Mirror Man comes across in his travels. This glass orb isn't particularly keen on letting the chrome humanoid venture out with a fellow sphere, so he tries to kill Mirror Man to separate the duo.- The Baby of the Bunch: Not a Sphere God nor a sphere with any particularly fancy abilities, and lacks social confidence amongst the sphere family. Even Urchin's got more gusto than him.
- Unwanted Rescue: Tries to "save" Jesu from Mirror Man, causing the duo to butt heads with him since neither of them are particularly keen on staying holed up in the Graveyard.
Jäkel
Jäkel
A red glass sphere with the alchemy symbol for sulfur/brimstone etched into his body. As his appearance suggests, Jäkel is essentially an archetypical demon in the body of one of the many spheres throughout the land, and has all the tricks of one.- Demonic Possession: Possesses Jesu in the normal ending to invoke a Fade to White, and again in one fate to force him to murder Mirror Man.
- Kafka Komedy: Is quite ironically an affable person put through the wringer despite being a traditional demon. Jäkel is forced to watch Moloch shoot himself dead in a game of Russian Roulette and has his temple blown skyward at least twice, once by Diego and another by Omen. All of these events happen unprovoked and are completely Played for Laughs.
- No Honor Among Thieves: Doesn't hesitate to betray Israel if the death of Mirror Man leaves the two of them alone in the same room. Though since both of them aren't exactly mortal and are part of Cheeky's friend group, it could also be a case of Vitriolic Best Buds.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Salami Wizard's videos depict his relationship with Israel as a form of tough love rather than actual treachery. That being said, them showing this dynamic in a game of Russian Roulette also sends Jäkel himself into Suicidal Overconfidence territory.
Szemtelen Manó
Szemtelen Manó/Cheeky
The Series Mascot of M U G E N and central Greater-Scope Villain of the game, Szemtelen is a blueish sphere with a bastardized "Check It" face. Though, he much rather prefers to be called Cheeky.Born hundreds of millions of years ago, this "naughty leprechaun" has helped shape the strange world that Mirror Man seems so intent on exploring, creating some of the other spheres and their underlings. Cheeky himself seems eager to return the favor to Mirror Man, reshaping the landscape to his whim to mess with the chrome figure and Jesu as they continue to wander in search of a goal.
- Affably Evil: Has a polite demeanor in all of his interactions, even as some of them try to kill you. He's also quite casual around the other spheres, which he considers his friends. Just don't steal his food.
- Berserk Button: Surprisingly, a 900,000,000-year-old rock has a quaint little house out in the valley! Shame if someone were to break in and steal his food...
- Blue-and-Orange Morality: Cheeky has no proper sense of morality, only a desire to do what he thinks is entertaining. Whether that's making Mirror Man's life a living hell, exposing Bruh's Casual Kink to a public livestream, or goading his friends into human pastimes like Russian Roulette, anything goes.
- Defrosting Ice Queen: Gradually warms up to Bruh despite some hints he considers him The Unfavorite. By the time Omen is busy blowing up Jäkel's temple (again), they're both watching on TV in the same room and laughing their asses off.
- Eldritch Abomination: Shows hints of this, as Cheeky is able to manipulate reality and has existed for hundreds of millions of years.
- Greater-Scope Villain: The one sphere above all others, and is thus the true threat to Mirror Man.
- Medium Awareness: Cheeky acts as if he is the player of a game that must be manipulated to any end, not exactly comprehending of proper morality in the process.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: While usually an Affably Evil Troll, Cheeky kills Mirror Man without hesitation or trickery if he breaks into his house and steals his food.
- Time Abyss: Nine-hundred million years old. One does have to wonder what he and the other spheres did for entertainment before human civilization came along.
- Troll: Most of his appearances involve tricking someone into doing odd things or outright harassing or torturing them for a quick laugh.
Minor Spheres
Diego
Señor Diego Bernabé
A red, sombrero-wearing rock that sometimes replaces Jesu. You can still roll him around and explore the world as if Jesu were there, but just be prepared to deal with his music.- Beware the Silly Ones: He's best known for being a Funny Foreigner and Dreadful Musician, but he also breaks out of the sacrificial ritual in the normal ending and blasts Jäkel's temple to kingdom come in the process.
- Dreadful Musician: His official songs on M U G E N's YouTube channel are... discordant, to say the least, with the guitar he carries around being out of tune and the notes being noticeably just out of rhythm.
- Funny Foreigner: Is Mexican and serves as one of Jesu's comedic counterparts.
- Stuff Blowing Up: Carry him to the normal ending and he'll blow up Jäkel's temple.
- Toilet Humor: Associated with septic tanks, likely in reference to the common joke that the restaurant chain Taco Bell is infamous for causing one too many cases of The Food Poisoning Incident.
Bruh
Bruh Jesus
A sphere that resembles Jesu, though is way more comedic than the latter. Has a chance to replace his counterpart when starting a run.- Identical Stranger: To Jesu, although his presence causes the game to break down into surface-level comedy rather than allowing Mirror Man to progress.
- Me's a Crowd: Try to solve the puzzle in the Graveyard and he'll rain down hundreds of clones until it's impossible to see anything or move around.
- Thousand-Yard Stare: Initially starts laughing at Omen's announcement with Cheeky, but after Jäkel's temple gets blown up Bruh goes dead silent and has a vacant, horrified look on his face.
- Toilet Humor: Loudly farts whenever Mirror Man pushes him around.
- The Unfavorite: Cheeky doesn't seem to like him all that much, calling him a "potato" if you break into his house. This may have to do with an incident where Cheeky, while trying (and failing) to make... something, throws a sledgehammer at Bruh. To Cheeky's horror, Bruh catches it and tries to do the same.
