A writer who invented a time machine and finds out that his friend is actually a serial killer and has to travel through time to catch them.


  • All-Loving Hero: He still hopes the best for humanity and wants to stop John's crime spree.
  • Cassandra Truth: He tries to tell his friends that he did in fact invented a time travel machine. The only man who believes him is a serial killer on the run.
  • Endearingly Dorky: H.G. is a charming puppy dog of a man. Even Jane says that he's cute.
  • Married to the Job: He was married before, but now determined to remain single and work on his first book.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: This was his relationship with John Stevenson; after he finds out about John's crimes, he is nothing but vitriol and none of the friendship.

A prestigious surgeon who is a friend of budding writer H.G. Wells, who is also Jack the Ripper.


  • Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: As it turns out, he killed not just prostitutes, but homeless people, because no one would notice.
  • Pride: He is not happy to know that he is forgotten in history while H.G. is a famed author.
  • Mad Doctor: He is a doctor and Jack the Ripper.
  • Serial Killer: He's one of the earliest and most famous examples.
  • The Sociopath: He kills for fun and steals a time machine to keep killing throughout time with nobody to stop him.

An assistant museum curator who joins H.G. in stopping John.


     Vanessa Anders 

Vanessa Anders

The runner of the museum and H.G. Wells' great great granddaughter having known about the time machine because he will visit her when she was in college.


  • Kid from the Future: She's H.G. Wells' great-great-granddaughter.
  • Iron Lady: She is very intimidating in her first scene, but in private with H.G. and her husband, she's shows her more soft side.
