Rhavenfell

    House Rhavenfell

In General

  • Badass Family: Each member can kick ass and take names in some form, and are highly skilled and accomplished in their own fields. Only Adrastus, Kyte's younger brother, has a distaste for fighting, and even he has the accomplishment of discovering the magnet and its use as a compass as a child.
  • The Dreaded: For the enemies of House Rhavenfell, their name is a name to be feared.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: The people of Rhavenfell are completely loyal to the ruling family. An in-game system message from the GM notes that the loyalty of the populace was so high that it couldn't rise any higher.

Kytheus "Kyte" Rhavenfell

The main character, and future Lord Exemplar of Rhavenfell.

Tropes:

  • The Ace: Kyte excells at almost anything he puts his minds to, and learns terrifyingly quickly. He is most well known for his incredible martial, magical, and musical prowess. Subverted when it comes to swimming, which he struggles with. He's getting better, though.
  • Child Prodigy: Even as a young child, Kyte has showcased ridiculous martial prowess and skill, even by Rhavenfell standards. And not only that, but he has also developed into a talented musical prodigy. For one thing, he had invented the string instrument family and musical notation at the age of twelve.
  • The Dreaded: Feared especially by the Drex due to his overwhelming victory against them during the events of "The Patrol—First Blood: Battle." He was even given the title of Drel'Thaka— "the destroyer."
  • The Hero: The player character and main protagonist of this quest, and regularly accomplishes feats on the same level as many shounen protagonists.
  • Humble Hero: From a very early age (the very first story post, even!), Kytheus learned the importance of avoiding arrogance. Kyte doesn't think so much of himself, and treats everyone he meets equally. Noble, commoner, bastard, demihuman— Kyte always acts respectful and friendly to those he meets.
  • Psychic Link: Has one with his adoptive Stormlord Griffon brother, Nero. Over the course of the quest, Kyte and Nero's bond gets progressively stronger, allowing them to not only share thoughts, feelings, and images, but also magic and senses. Notably, Kyte uses his link to Nero's special senses to enhance his musical skill.
  • Rugged Scar: He's noted to have fading shrapnel scars across the left side of his face.
  • Weather Manipulation: Kytheus uses Storm magic, and his spells involve but are not limited to summoning lightning bolts, releasing bursts of noise and shockwaves (in the form of a thunderclap), and manipulating the wind into bursts of air or razor-sharp blades. He even has the chance to learn water magic.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: Kyte has eyes that are noted to be a really weird green color. Helen, upon first seeing Kytheus, finds herself particularly enchanted by his eyes.

Nero Rhavenfell

Kytheus' adoptive brother, who also happens to be a powerful (juvenile) Stormlord Griffon.

Tropes:

  • Super-Senses: When Kytheus deepens his connection with Nero during the interlude *Duality*, he notes that he could use Nero's senses to see the world as he sees. He internally describes it as seeing the world with much more vibrancy and color, and is able to pick up new sounds he had never heard before, which he uses to enhance his musical abilities.

Kell Rhavenfell

The current Lord of Rhavenfell, Kytheus' father, and the son of Kryton Westwind.

Tropes:

  • Action Dad: Kell loves and cares for each of his children very dearly (though Kyte is his favorite). He's also one of the greatest commanders and warriors of the Empire, with a martial skill level bordering on legendary.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: The ruler of Rhavenfell whose laws are seen as good and just by all of his subjects, and a huge badass.
  • The Dreaded: Burns villages to ashes and slaughters armies of ravaging barbarians and demihumans on a regular basis. The Drex have given him the title of "the Ravenous One", the Rabbit Tribes call him "the All-Consuming Flame," even across the Heartlands of the Empire and the Harpies, he's known as "the Tyrant Slayer"....you get the idea.

Adrianna Rhavenfell

The Lady of Rhavenfell, Kytheus' mother, and the wife of Kell Rhavenfell.
