Boys
Mentored by Nicole Scherzinger.
Matt Terry
Final Placement: 1st
- Expy: Just from looking at him, comparisons to Louis Tomlinson are pretty much inevitable.
- Mr. Fanservice
Freddy Parker
Final Placement: 11th
- We Hardly Knew Ye: He was saved by the Lifeline Vote in the first week of live shows, only to be eliminated in the week that followed.
Ryan Lawrie
Final Placement: 6th
- Breakup Breakout: Played with. He originally auditioned as a solo artist, was eliminated during the Boot Camp stage, then was put into a made-together Boy Band with four other boys for the Six-Chair Challenge, but was ultimately turned down by Louis, which prompted the group to dissolve and the four others to be completely forgotten while Ryan was picked by Simon to be Nicole's Wildcard.
- It wasn't his first time in a Boy Band either; for some time, before doing the show, he was in the group Exposure, but that didn't last all that long either.
- Ghost Pirate: Portrayed one while performing "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" during Fright Night.
- Hair Flip: At one point while singing "Twist and Shout" for Girl Band vs. Boy Band Night, he shakes his head rapidly and whips his hair from side to side as the female back-up dancers faint around him. Needless to say, Nicole is rather pleased.Nicole: Now give it to me again, "well shake it, shake it..." [Ryan laughs] Shake it, give it to me right now!Ryan: [shaking his head] Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby now!
- Official Couple: With Emily Middlemas. They have known each other for three to four years and started dating in March 1st, 2016, long before the auditions actually began.
- Piggyback Cute: Emily's aforementioned Diva Night package shows him carrying her on his back like this.
Girls
Mentored by Simon Cowell.
Emily Middlemas
Final Placement: 4th
- Colbert Bump: It could easily be argued that the recent popularity and chart success of "Human" by Rag'n'Bone Man can be owed to Emily's risky decision to perform the song during the quarterfinals.
- Creepy Doll: Portrayed a more sympathetic one while performing "Creep" during Fright Night.
- Her Boyfriend's Jacket: During her Diva Night package, Emily is shown at soundcheck wearing the same jacket Ryan wore while performing "Perfect" for the first week of live shows.
- My Greatest Second Chance: First auditioned in the 2014 season and was eliminated during the Judges' Houses stage.
- Official Couple: With Ryan Lawrie (see above).

- Pretty Butterflies: Wore a dress adorned with these for her performance of "What Makes You Beautiful" during Girl Band vs. Boy Band Night.
- Softer and Slower Cover: Most of her live show performances have been basically this.
Sam Lavery
Final Placement: 7th
- Uncanny Valley Makeup: Initially sported heavy make-up until Simon told her to remove it during her Judges' Houses performance.
Gifty Louise
Final Placement: 9th
- My Greatest Second Chance: First auditioned in 2015 but was eliminated at Boot Camp.
Over 25's
Mentored by Sharon Osbourne.
Saara Aalto
Final Placement: 2nd
- Alice Allusion: Her performance of "It's Oh So Quiet", which starts with pre-recorded footage of her drinking from a tiny glass bottle and shrinking.
- Always Second Best: Whether it's on The Voice Finland, Eurovision, or on this show, the poor girl seems to be doomed to always place second... Not that she minds.
- Camp: She competed in the contest for the Finnish selection for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, what else did you expect?
- Curb-Stomp Battle: She has been in three sing-offs since the start of the live shows (against Bratavio, Freddy, and Four of Diamonds, respectively), all of which she won (though in Freddy's case it all came down to deadlock).
- Funny Foreigner: Was initially portrayed as this, until the producers realized she really could sing.
- Genki Girl / Determinator: She's vibrant, optimistic, and bubbly, and her life motto is "No Fear".
- Large Ham: In particular during some of her campiest performances such as "It's Oh So Quiet".
Relley C
Final Placement: 10th
- My Greatest Second Chance: First auditioned in 2013 and was eliminated during the Judges' Houses stage.
- We Hardly Knew Ye: Had it even worse than Freddy. While she got a sizable amount of screentime during her first stint in 2013, during this series her audition wasn't even shown, and while she did make the live shows this time, she was the third to be eliminated after a disappointing performance of "(You Make Me Feel like a) Natural Woman".
Honey G
Final Placement: 5th
- Catchphrase / Lyrical Tic: Spelling and shouting her name during performances, and encouraging the audience to do the same with her."H to the O to the N to the E to the Y to the G, it's Honey G!""When I say Honey, you say G!"
- Lethal Joke Character: Despite her controversial reception amidst most viewers, she has only landed in the Bottom 3 twice in her eight weeks of live shows.
- Pretty Fly for a White Guy: She's a middle-aged British woman who is dead set on becoming a rapper and pretty confident (to say the least) regarding her ability.
- Unpopular Popular Character: Inverted. The judges give her glowing praise every week, but she's rather divisive amongst viewers.

Four of Diamonds
Final Placement: 8th
A group that was initially eliminated at the Judges' Houses stage, but were brought back in order to fill in the missing gap left by Brooks Way after their disqualification.
