The sixth disciple of Cheon Ma Sin Gun and owner of Flaming Dragon Sabre. His parents was killed by a bear whe he was a child and he was adopted and trained in martial art by Cheon Ma Sin Gun. Unfortunately, fate would have other things in mind for him.

He is currently the Dojon, the master of Flaming Dragon Sabre and leader of Clan of Blade of Sinji.

Tropes associated with Han Bi Kwang

  • Accidental Marriage: With So-Hyang. Luckily it doesn't stick since she fell in love with his brother Choi Sang-hwe instead.
  • Above the Influence: Yeob Min Cheon trapped him and Dam Hwa Rin in a cave and made them inhale a poison that would make them die...unless they have sex. Dam Hwa Rin lost her consciousness and started acting on her instinct and practically offered herself to him. He somehow managed to resist her advance until help arrived.
  • The Ace: Although he has the potential, it takes quite a while for him to grow into this. At the moment he's probably the most powerful fighter of his generation.
  • All Your Powers Combined: He manages to learn techniques from every opponent he ever fought.
  • Always Save the Girl: Dam Hwa Rin's safety is everything to him, the rest of the world be damned. Later he did get more rational and will analyze the situation before rushing in but her life still takes priority.
  • Anti-Hero: At first. While he's definitely not bad, he only cares about living his own life and not much else. After meeting Dam Hwa Rin he slowly grows into a true Hero.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: He can figure out how advanced martial arts techniques work by seeing them only once, and then perform them perfectly.
  • Ax-Crazy: When his Superpowered Evil Side takes over.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: With Noho when they were trapped in Ho Hyub Gok's tunnel.
  • Badass Adorable: He looks rather cute and goofy most of time.
  • Badass in Distress: He got skewered by Jaha Masin and nearly died. Fortunately Baek Gang, Me Yujin and Dam Hwa Rin saved him.
  • Battle Couple: Averted. Han Bi Kwang and Dam Hwa Rin have never teamed up to fight an opponent, quite strange for a fighting series.
  • Berserk Button: Hurting Dam Hwa Rin and innocent people.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: He has the potential to become the greatest martial artist that ever lives. Too bad he prefer to party or woo women than pay attention to training. After getting his ass kicked for the first time, he decided to get serious and the result is, well, awesome.
  • The Chosen One: The reason why Choen Ma Sin Gun makes him his disciple . Cheon Ma Sin Gun made a bet with Byuk-Ryuk that if a man who can learn Jongpa, Sapa and Neutral Powers techniques appears, Byuk-Ryuk will have to support him. Han Bi Kwang did just that. There might be further reasons but it's unclear at this point.. He is also the master of Flaming Dragon Sabre and destined to fight the ruler of Sinji.
  • Casanova Wannabe: He doesn't have much luck with the ladies, but keep trying anyway.
  • Character Development: Change from a selfish, cowardly hedonist to a confident and righteous martial artists, with a close-knit group of friends and the support from both Sapa and Jongpa.
  • Combat Pragmatist: He has no qualm using underhand tactics like throwing sand at his opponent's face or goading people into a race to take advantage of his speed.
  • Cowardly Lion: Subverted. His urge to runaway from fight is a mental condition imparted by his father to ensure he never gets involved with martial art.He is able to shake this off later.
  • Determinator: Dude usually takes an insane amount of punishment in his fights and keeps coming back for more.
  • Disguised in Drag: Did this once to escape from enemy's territory.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: He has shown good insights in many instances.
    • When Noho scolded him for throwing away the Flaming Dragon Blade, he pointed out that no treasure is more valuable than one's own life.
    • He threw Me Yujin's blindfold away and asked her to see the world in her own eyes because her over-reliance on Hyonmu Heavenly Bow hindered her progress.
  • Easily Forgiven: He rarely holds grudge and is able to work with most of his former enemies.
  • Empathic Weapon: Flaming Dragon Sabre. It talks to him frequently, which consists of mostly snarking about what an idiot he is.
  • Fake Memories: His memory of his parents being killed by a bear was implanted by his true father Sword Demon to protect him.
  • Flaming Sword: His trusty Flaming Dragon Sabre.
  • Heroic Second Wind: Many times. It's not a proper fight if Han Bi Kwang doesn't get beaten to a pulp first.
  • Heroic Willpower: Able to resist Flaming Dragon Sabre's control and regain his will.
  • Kill It with Fire: After gaining full control of Flaming Dragon Sabre, he can summon a gigantic fire dragon to incinerate his opponents.
  • Like Father, Like Son: He is very similar to his father Sword Demon in appearance, talents and personality, [[
  • Indy Ploy: Always jump into action without thinking first. Fortunately, the guy is really good at improvising.
  • Instant Expert: He masters techniques that would take normal people years to learn in days.
  • Made of Iron: His endurance is simply unbelievable.
  • Official Couple: with Dam Hwa Rin, which is quite funny since they haven't said they "love" each other even once in the series.
  • The Promise: He vows to protect his "friend" Dam Hwa Rin and help her find her grandfather, going through hell in the process. That's the reason why Dam Hwa Rin falls in love with him: he never backs down from his word, even if his life depends on it.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He is the Blue Oni to Noho's Red Oni.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: His favorite tactic before his Character Development.
  • Signature Move: Great Heaven's Demon of Destruction, Cursed Dragon Slash, Raging Dragon Descending from Heaven.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: He has one inherited from his father Sword Demon. Cheon Ma Sin Gun said that if he doesn't find a cure for this he eventually goes down the same road as his father.
  • Superpower Lottery: He gets two:
    • Ability to perfectly imitate other fighters' techniquie with one look, which is really useful. He managed to copy techniques from every opponent he fought.
    • An innate ability to absorb people's inner enery when come into physical contact, only active when he's in critical condition. he inherites this power from his father Sword Demon.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Several levels. At first he knows jack about fighting and rely on his speed to run away from danger. After learning how to fight proper under Dam Hwa Rin's guidance, he's able to take on members of Six Dragon Gods, defeat a high ranked Sinji swordmen and hold his own against his brother Jin Pung Baek for a short time. As of now, he could trade blows with Jaha Masin, the most powerful martial artist in the world.
  • Tranquil Fury: the look on his face when Jaha Masin seemingly killed Dam Hwa Rin is oozing this.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Before he learned martial art properly, many people noted that his techniques were mediocre but the power is incredible.
