The Ravagers

A team of young heroes that spun out of the Teen Titans crossover event "The Culling." Four of the team's members (Terra, Beast Boy, Lightning, and Thunder) were captives of Harvest, while teammate Ridge (A character created for the New 52) was a member of Harvest's team of evil Ravagers. The sixth member, Caitlin Fairchild, was a scientist working for N.O.W.H.E.R.E. who had appeared in "Superboy." The team forms after the six members escape from Harvest's Colony and decided to stick together for safety.

    Fairchild

Fairchild (Caitlin Fairchild)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fairchild.jpg

Caitlin Fairchild was the daughter of Alexander Fairchild, of Team 7. A young genius, Caitlin became a scientist working for N.O.W.H.E.R.E. and worked to help free Superboy from their clutches. She was originally best friends with Rose Wilson. At the end of "The Ravagers" series, it was revealed that this Caitlin Fairchild is actually not the original and that she had been cloned multiple times. The original Fairchild was murdered by Deathstroke for killing her father, who was one of his only friends. See Characters.Gen 13 for her original incarnation before the New 52.

  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: The Redhead to Terra's Blonde and Lightning's Brunette. She's less of a fiery redhead and more of a brainy redhead, though.
  • Genius Bruiser: Is a very young Doctor and has super strength.
  • Growing Muscles Sequence: Caitlin has one of these every time she uses her powers.
  • Heroic BSoD: Caitlin has one of these after she learns that the real Caitlin was murdered by Deathstroke.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: This happens to her via Deathstroke, who stabs her with a knife from the future. It doesn't kill her, but does incapacitate her.
  • Morality Chain: Is this for a surprising number of people including Superboy (for a time), Rose Wilson (until she "betrayed" her) and for the Ravagers (save for, perhaps, Terra).
  • My Suit Is Also Super: Originally, Fairchild wore a bikini beneath her costume that was this, staying on when her other clothes ripped. She later replaced it with two different suits, both of which grew with her when she used her powers.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: She's this for Superboy, Rose Wilson, and the rest of the Ravagers.
  • Super-Strength: Caitlin's got some serious muscles when she's transformed, enough to engage in a brawl with Superboy and to punch apart clones of herself.
  • Super-Toughness: While it's not shown if Caitlin is nigh-invulnerable, she is certainly tough, capable of taking punches from Superboy and fighting other monstrous creatures.
  • The Hero: Caitlin is the most heroic of the group and is its leader.
  • The Smart Guy: Doubles as this, given her doctorate degree.
  • Town Girls: Is the Neither to Terra (Femme) and Lightning (Butch).

    Ridge

Ridge (Edgar Ridgley)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ridge_0001.jpg

Ridge was a member of Harvest's Ravagers, a super strong reptilian creature with an British accent. He originally sided with Harvest, but later escaped with the other Ravagers. It's later revealed that Ridge is a very young boy and that his time in the Colony and as a Ravager caused him to suppress this knowledge until he felt safe enough to turn back to normal.

  • Arch-Nemesis: With Warblade, since the two were part of Harvet's Ravagers together. Doesn't get resolved, however, since Warblade is murdered by Deathstroke.
  • Missing Mom: We learn that Edgar has a pregnant mother, but we don't know what happened to her.
  • My Suit Is Also Super: Ridge gets a pair of shorts that stretch with his body and are as invulnerable as he is.
  • Super Not-Drowning Skills: Ridge is amphibious in his reptilian form.
  • Super-Strength: Ridge is pretty strong in his reptilian form.
  • Super-Toughness: With accompanying toughness too, so much so that he could swim in arctic waters with no issue.
  • The Lancer: Frequently clashes with Caitlin, reminding her of the other's pasts with the Colony.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Possibly. Dr. Niles Caulder theorizes that the child Ridge could transform into his reptilian form given time, but we never see him do this, since the series ended shortly afterward.
  • Younger Than They Look: Ridge is really a young boy, probably about eight or nine years old.

    Lightning

Lightning (Ayla)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alya_0001_8.jpg

Lightning was one of the teenage metahumans brought to the Colony by Harvest. While there, she was experimented on and developed her powers. After being freed from the Colony, she decides to stick with the other escapees for safety. She is one half of yet another Lightning and Thunder duo, which is a tradition at DC.

  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: The brunette to Terra's Blonde and Fairchild's Redhead.
  • Flight: Can do this while in physical contact with her brother.
  • Power Glows: Obviously her electricity does, but she also has blue/gold markins on her skin that glow whenever she uses her power also.
  • Shock and Awe: Her main thing. She fires bolts of lightning or spheres of lighting.
  • Town Girls: Is the Butch to Fairchild (Neither) and Terra (Femme).
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Lightning disappears in one issue, seemingly having performed a heroic sacrifice. She later returns, but the series is over soon afterward.
  • Wonder Twin Powers: Can fly while in physical contact with her brother. She is also immune to his powers.

    Thunder

Thunder (Alexei)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alexei_0001.jpg

Thunder was one of the teenage metahumans brought to the Colony by Harvest. While there, he was experimented on and given implants so as to better control his powers. After being freed from the Colony, he decides to stick with the other escapees for safety. He is one half of yet another Lightning and Thunder duo, which is a tradition at DC.

  • Flight: Can do this while in physical contact with his sister Lightning.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Fires sonic blasts from his chest that are highly destructive.
  • Power Glows: His chest glows when using his sonic blasts, but he also has golden markings on his skin that glow whenever he uses his powers.
  • Wonder Twin Powers: Has this with his sister, to the point that being separated from her gave him migraines.
